You guys know what time it is, we are back once again for 3 talking points from Thomas Tuchel’s latest press conference, this was conducted at 1PM this afternoon ahead of Chelsea vs Arsenal.
Thomas Tuchel backs Jorginho :
Tuchel was seen to be visibly furious at Wembley last weekend when Jorginho got disposed in midfield leading to a Crystal Palace counter attack, however Tuchel clarified that it is never personal and that he loves the player :
“It’s never personal, he knows that I love him, we overused him.
Tuchel added that he is struggling to be fresh after a tough season for club and country.
Reece James is LOVED by Tuchel :
Reece James has played RCB instead of RWB in Chelsea’s last 2 outings and many fans thought it was a tactical decision from Chelsea’s boss, however it seems that’s not the case, as Tuchel stated below the reason why :
“ I think the back three is a little less demanding phsyically in terms of the wing-back position given he comes from a long injury. It is a bit of an advantage to have him in the back three because it is less demanding physically “
“ He can play both positions brilliantly and we only pick him once so we have to decide “
“ I love him in both positions “
It will be interesting to see where Reece starts tomorrow against Arsenal considering his RWB Masterclass at the emirates at the start of the season which was topped off with a goal.
Chalobah hasn’t been featuring due to the benefit of other players around him :
Chalobah has been an interesting story this season, starting off the season with a screamer against Crystal Palace, his early form in the first couple of months of the season was fantastic, keeping Andreas Christensen out of the team.
Recently, Chalobah has not featured at all, and he wasn’t even in the squad for Chelsea’s semi final against the team he started off so well against, here is what Tuchel said when quizzed on him :
“ Maybe he feels these decisions are against him but they are for other players. We had Reece James playing in this position because of his physicality and speed “
“ Trevoh played a very good season so far. He had a little dip of form some weeks ago but he had good weeks of training now. He had a talk but I haven’t been able to show him with minutes. “
“ We have Thiago in shape, Andreas playing, Reece in these positions. He is training excellently and this is what we demand of him. He will see it with minutes in the next matches “
