Under scrutiny – Rafael Benitez

Rafael Benitez has been appointed as Chelsea’s number 1 and the Spaniard has brought in former blue Boudewijn Zenden as his second in command. The news was not taken nicely by the fans who despise Benitez for all the comments he has made about the London club in the past.

There is just about every reason to be angry, but at the same time we have to also realize that Benitez has taken this job to make sure that Chelsea succeed in winning trophies this season, which in turn results in him staying at this managerial post. We can go on and on about how much we used to hate him but at this point of time, we had absolutely no one to replace him.

Abramovich demands the best, a huge factor behind Chelsea winning the highest number of trophies in England since he took over. Moreover with Pep Guardiola having promised his family to stay out an entire season, there were not many candidates who boasted the amount of experience and records that Benitez did.

2 La Liga’s ,1 FA Cup, 1 Super Copa. 1 Community Shield, 1 European Super Cup, 1 Champions League, 1 UEFA Cup and 1 FIFA Club World Cup along with truckload of individual honors. Even if Roman Abramovich was high on weed, he wouldn’t say no to Benitez wanting the job.

To make it clear, at this point of time, every Chelsea fan wants the team to win and if we are to take Roman Abramovich’s philosophy, the fans can be appeased about the Di Matteo saga, only if the club actually wins something.

With Benitez under the helm , Chelsea have a huge tactical advantage as well. Benitez is known to play a structured 4-2-3-1, with a solid defensive approach and a decent attack. With the kind of players Chelsea have, expect Rafa to tighten up the defense, with some stern words to Luiz and stick with the flair he has been blessed with in attack. Moreover the revival of El Nino , is very much on the cards.

With everything being said here and there, we also have to realize that in no way does all this demean Roberto Di Matteo in any way. Di Matteo was a club legend both as a player and manager, but as much as I would have liked him to stay, the Russian oligarch has the final word.

So to summarise everything up, Roman cannot be blamed. This is the club’s policy and we have to deal with it. We cannot complain as well, because despite all of this, we have been very successful. Stability, will never be a part of Chelsea Football Club. Second of all, we have to get behind Rafa. Forget what’s happened in the past, because as of now, we want Chelsea to succeed and so does he. You can say all you want about not wanting him to manage Chelsea, but when you sit down to watch Chelsea come Sunday, you will want us to get three points, and indirectly want him celebrating at the sidelines. Thirdly, Di Matteo is gone, face it. We will still sing his name on City, but as much as we want him back, he’ll not be seen again for quite some time.

It’s time to get behind Rafa and the boys. Our season can still be saved, keep hope and march on !

Like I said on one of Ervin's articles lately, I would always support CFC, even if Clatenburg becomes our new manager in 2 weeks.lol KTBFFH.

Hope that we could always benefit from their collegues in the middle and lines in awarding penalties they used to deny and no more red like they did to Torres
