The Young One’s

We have quite a few players who are young with great potential who could really add something I believe to the first team. With Mourinho talking about stability and longetivity I think he is maybe looking at the youth ranks of our team along with a few young players in the market to build a formidable team on. I am going to talk about the youth ranks in our team and what players we have that could add something to the first team not just next season but in the future as well.
Thibaut Courtois
The young Belgian keeper has huge potential and Mourinho does see that but I think he doesn’t want to have Cech and Courtois in the squad next season as he will look to Cech for his experience and leadership from the back which we are going to need for a season or two but Courtois is the future and Mourinho knows that. He is big and confident, the fact he has held down a starting spot in Athletico Madrid for two seasons now and for someone so young is quite an acheivement, he has had so much praise already and he is a regular feature in a young, highly potential Belgian team and is a regular starter. For his size he is extremely agile and quick. I do think he could be first choice keeper for Chelsea next season its just I think Cech has that vast experience and knowledge over Courtois and that’s about it really both as good as each other, Cech just has the experience.
Lucas Piazon
The Brazillian wonderkid has impressed many whenever he has played, he was a huge player for the youth teams and no one seemed to have an answer for him at youth level and in the 2011/2012 season Piazon playing just behind Lukaku (No.10 role) they quite literally ripped any opposing defence to shreds, this was the same this season, before Piazon went out on loan. Piazon and Feruz beat defence’s with skill and pace. He kind of made the step up last season and this season. He has impressed me and I can see him being a big player for us in the future. He needs a Loan to an English team preferably Premiership. Crystal Palace and Liverspuds are looking at him for a season long loan, prederably Palace as I think he would get more game time than at the Reds, however he would probably get better experience at Pool than Palace. He is quick, agile and very skillful, has an eye for goal with a wide range of passing up his sleeve as well. He is a playmaker, a winger or even a striker. He has the ability to play in any of these positions maybe not a lone striker but definately a False 9 or in a two with a big striker.
Josh McEachran
Josh is a central midfielder who’s been on Loan at Swansea and Middlesborough he has come all the way through the youth system since he was 8 so he must be half decent. When we didn’t buy another Centre Mid in the summer I genuinely thought he was going to get some first team  action and stay but he went out on Loan and at the end of the season was one of Middlesborough’s stand out performers. While on loan he played in a deep-lying playmaker role but also box-to-box role in centre mid. He learnt a lot from this and his passing which was already good became a lot better and his defensive abilities have increased as well. When he first came to the first team Ancelotti got him to train close with Lampard which both didn’t mind doing as Lampard said he saw a lot of himself in Josh, even Ancelotti compared Josh with Lampard. I can see him either going on Loan hopefully to a Premiership club or staying at Chelsea but I see him going on Loan and contending the season after for a starting spot in the 2014/2015 season.
Islam Feruz
The speedy little Scottish striker has been a hit for the U21 for club and country. He has immense pace and is skillful with a very accurate shot. He was in the youth team this season playing for U21’s and the Reserve team. I think he will need a few season’s on Loan before anything becomes concrete for him and his future either at Chelsea or at another club.
Thorgan Hazard
The little brother of Eden who supposedly has the potential to be even better than his brother  has been on loan at Wargem in Belgium and has impressed massively for them not scoring a lot of goals but has a few assist’s to his name. He has impressed so much that Anderlecht want him on loan, A few Championship clubs do as well so he has some potential. He is like his brother with his shooting and skills however he is taller not as fast but better passing and stronger. I can see him on Loan again next season but I’m unsure where he will be.
Lewis Baker
The Central Midfielder has come into his own this season as with Ake being part of the first team and Piazon and McEachran out on loan he has been the sole playmaker in the youth team and has done extremely well to help the team get as far as they have done. It was an even bigger blow when his partner in crime George Saville went out on loan leaving him and Loftus-Cheek as the only true Centre Mids in the team and they played every minute of the games they where available, Baker was suspended for the 2nd leg of the FA youth Cup semi-finals for too many yellows. He is a deep-lying playmaker and is a very good one as well. He does need a ball winner next to him though as his tackling is not the best. He needs at least two seasons on loan for definate before we start talking about him playing for the first team.
Ruben Loftus-Cheek
Only really seen him play a bit for the youth teams and reserves but he has impressed me massively, also when he played in our end of season friendlies against Man City he impressed everyone. He could become a top class central midfielder for Chelsea. He is predominately a holding midfielder and is great at tackling and reading the game, he is everything you need from a holding midfielder with his defensive qualities and his short passing being very good he can stop a attack and put us on the counter attack quickly and efficiently. He must have some sort of potential as Barcalona are wanting to sign him.
I have missed out Lukaku and Kevin De Bruyne as if the reports are to be correct they are both going to be part of Mourinho’s plan for the coming season and in the future.

  1. What about Islam Feruz ?

    • Anonymous

my thought exactly. Islam is just too good to be left out

  2. Vaibhav Kumble

U have not mentioned any of the defenders

    • I can do a second part to this article you like with a few defenders?

  3. @Emile Yo Bro, U blind.

  4. Tom Gardner

Feruz is mentioned, appropriately so. I’m interested in why Wallace and Chelobah were left out of the conversation.

    • I can do a second part to this article you like with the players you have listed?

  5. Feruz is a greedy little shit in the mould of Sturridge, that has a much higher regard for himself than pans out on the field. Mourhino would be the perfect manager for him who would either make him or at least find him out if he is not the real deal. The potential is there for sure but is on the way to being too big for his boots in my humble opinion.

  6. Thanks for this delightful post. It is worth sharing.
