A few people listed a few players I had missed out and the fact I hadn’t done a few of our defender’s. I didn’t notice this at first but looking back I had so this is a second part to my first article The Young Ones.
Nathaniel Chalobah
A stand out performer for the U21’s last season went out on Loan to Watford to our Itallian Legend Zola. Zola transformed Chalobah from a Centre Back to a Defensive Midfielder. Where he has excelled massively putting to bed a lot of criticism of the young Englishman. He has a lot of Stamina, great at tackling and good short passer as well. He has played 40something games for Watford and scoring 5goals where some were absolutely brilliant. I can see him with his stamina he has, becoming a Box-to-Box centre midfielder for us and possibly a future captain of Chelsea? He has the raw qualities of one and I think he could become one if he is pushed in the right direction. He does need to bulk up abit but he is only 19 so we can give him time.
Kenneth Omeruro
The tall Nigerian Centre back, quite possibly has had one of the best season’s out of all the young players we have at Chelsea. He has been on Loan in Holland gaining valuable experience. He was called up to the AFCON Nigeria team when another player had to drop out because of injury. Giving Omeruro a chance and boy did he take it by the scruff of the neck. When Nigeria played Ivory Coast I was expecting our King to give Omeruro a lesson and a half but in fact it was the opposite way round and he beat Drogba in every department. He was a solid performer for Nigeria on there way to winning the tournament. He is currently in Brazil playing for Nigeria in the Confederations Cup. Having only played Tahiti who are not world beaters. He played with confidence and maturity. He could be a player to help sort out our problems at the back but we will just have to wait and see.
Wallace
Wallace is our Brazillian right back who we bought but could not bring in to our team as he was not 18 before the Brazillian season started so he had to stay in Brazil. Its a agreement by the Brazillian FA and all other FA’s. A lot of South American countries and Central American countries have this agreement in place this is with the exception of Piazon as we bought him just before this agreement came into place. He is fast, a hard battler and good tackler. He has only really came onto the scene end of last season beginning of this season when he had to deputise for the first team. He started to get first team action and really started to catch the eye of a few teams. I could quite happily see him deputise for Azpilicueta and let Ivanovic move into the Centre Back role more. I can see Wallace becoming a first team player of our’s as he does have to potential to play at the top levels of football it will all just depend on how he is nurtured and what experience he gets, along with the game time he gets.
Tomas Kalas
Kalas has been plying his trade in Holland like many of our young players. He is a versatile player as he can play Centre Back or Right Back. He is fast and strong. He had proven himself to be a good defender in the 2011/2012 season when he played the whole season at Centre Back and impressing everyone. This season he played mostly Right Back improving his passing and attacking play and has done well there with his speed and strength being a valuable asset to the team. I think next season though he should being going on loan to an English team to get him up to speed with the way the game is played here before coming back to Chelsea ready to challenge for a starting spot.
Patrick Van Aanholt
He may not be as young as some of our other players but he has potential if we do not buy a replacement for Cole I do believe we could have either Bertrand of PVA take over as 1st choice Left Back or even rotate with eachother. He is a fast, hard working left back and he is very good at getting up and down the pitch. I can see him being a first team player I just do not know when that will be. I could see him possibly going on Loan to a Premiership Clubnext season to get used to English game.
As you can see we have a large amount of youth players for defence who could come into the first team in the future and some maybe even now.

Jose need not buy a new CB, rather give the young lads in the reserve an opportunity espcially Kenneth, Kalas and Chalobah. They deserve to have their chances at the 1st team now.
did anyone watch the game btw nigeria and uruguay? Did you see how kenneth omeru pocketed cavani and made him useless upfront? That’s the kind of player we want just hope mou can give him the chance to player for the blue’s defence come next season. KTBFFH!!!
i own you dude
