Confederations Cup Update

FIFA’s Confederations Cup in Brazil saw a total of 7 Chelsea Players called up to represent their countries. The Group stages have now concluded which saw both Spain and Brazil (host to 5 Chelsea Players) top their groups. Nigeria, Mikkel and Omeruo were unfortunately eliminated from the competition after finishing behind Spain and Uruguay despite their 6-1 thrashing of Tahiti.
Oscar and David Luiz have featured in every Brazil game so far as the team pulled off a strong group stage campaign. They have secured a place in the finals last night after an unconvincing 2-1 win over Uruguay. Uruguay played a strong side as Chelsea target, Edison Cavani prove why he may be worth that 50+ million price tag.

Spain, sporting three Chelsea Players, have emerged from their group without much trouble and will face Italy in the semifinals.
Spain started their group stage campaign with a 2-1 win over Uruguay (a scoreline which does not represent Spain’s dominance throughout the game. Next came the 10-0 annihilation of Tahiti, in which two Chelsea players (Fernando Torres and Juan Mata) found the back of the net.  The former scored a total of 4 goals becoming the first Spaniard to:
1) Score 4 goals in a game since Raul in 1999
2) Have three career hatricks
3) Score 4 goals in one Confederation Cup match (equalising the record held by Marzouq Al Otaibi (KSA) and Cuauhtémoc Blanco (MEX).

Mata also played a pivotal role for the Spanish team, scoring a delightful goal as well as assisting his teammates’ goals leading them to a great game.
Azpilicueta also featured in the Spanish squad sporting the number 5 jersey and playing well enough to make both his country and club proud.
Fernando Torres also found the back of the net v Nigeria after being on the field for under 2 minutes. He scored a diving header with only his second touch of the ball.
Spain now face Italy, and are favorites to make the finals taking into consideration the 4-0 beating the former inflicted on Italy during the final of Euro 2012. This would produce a tantalizing final between Spain and Brazil, which according to most is the only just outcome.
Chelsea fans worldwide can take pride in the 7 players’ display for their country, proving their worth and talent available for the club in the coming season.
Good Luck to Torres, Mata, Azpilicueta and the other Spanish players who will try to help bring their team to the finals. And congratulations to David Luiz, Oscar and the rest of the Brazil team, on reaching the finals.
Who do you think will reach the finals between Spain and Italy? And how about the anticipated finals? Keep the Blue Flag Flying High!

let us not judge cavani depending on the confederation cup. in foot ball we have 2 categories of prayers one : tour nement prayers look at ronaldo senior ,petit, these kind of prayers they are good when it come to tournement &the fail to deliver in their league . then we have league prayers like messi ,cavani ,drogba etc. so what is chelsea looking for ?. are looking 4 aleague prayer or atounerment prayer ?. cavani iz aworld class striker &he proved 2 avery who watches the serie a league.
