In the Papers

chelseatransfernewsandrumoursupdateChelsea are growing increasingly confident of signing Wayne Rooney for £30million
I found this in the Daily Mirror. I still think he would be a steal at £30mill as he can offer so much to the team. Quite a few bet sites stopped taking bets for this just before the story came around in the papers on Monday as there was a huge increase in bets for this.

Jose Mourinho has been impressed by striker Romelu Lukaku so far from what he has seen of him.

I found this in the Guardian. I have been impressed by him whenever he plays. He had a great break through season on Loan at West Brom and did amazingly well there scoring 17 goals in 38 appearances. I believe he will score even more this season and in fewer minutes played.

Manchester United Manager David Moyes believes his Glasgow upbringing will give him the edge when it comes to mind games with Chelsea boss Jose Mourinho

I found this in The Sun. This made me laugh as Moyes will not be able to do it. Mourinho did it to him last time Jose was our Manager and he even did it to Sir Alex as well. Make no mistake this is Mourinho’s doing him saying this. Moyes knows he is already losing in the mind games he just does not want to admit it.

Ryan Bertrand see’s his long term future at Chelsea despite interest from Liverpool.

I found this in the Sun. I think he has a future here at Chelsea FC he is a good player and what he said about challenging Cole for the starting spot I believe he can do. Cole rates him highly so he must be good.

Didier Drogba is set to return to Chelsea next summer as a player-coach

I found this in the Daily Express. Not going to lie here but I would be so happy if this happened, Mourinho is supposedly wanting to do this with Drogba, Lampard, Terry and Cech. If its believed true that he does want to stay until he retires, he wants to bring in these 4 as his main coaches. Now I know these are just stories but just think of the experience they could give to the youger players.

Injured Manchester United striker Wayne Rooney, 27, has been playing golf close to Chelsea’s training ground – fuelling speculation the England international could be on his way to Stamford Bridge

I found this in the Daily Star. So he plays golf near Cobham so papers think he is moving there. See what happens with this.
Manager Jose Mourinho says he is considering leaving Fernando Torres, 29, and Juan Mata, 25, out of Chelsea’s first league game against Hull City because he believes they will be too exhausted following an international friendly for Spain on 14 August
I found this in the Independant. This really grinded my gears as the papers are just nit picking at what Mourinho said in his interview about the first game of the season.

Chelsea boss Jose Mourinho has pledged to help England qualify for the 2014 World Cup in Brazil.

I found this in the Guardian. He is supposedly going to rest England players that are picked for the qualifiers just before international matches and not play them in many games. He is also going to look at using his youth England players as well.

Mourinho has suggested Manchester City will be under greater pressure than anyone else because of the amount of money they have spent so far.

I found this in the Guardian. This is true but one thing is for sure they haven’t bolstered their defence and only bolstered their attack means they will be weak in defence until they sign more defenders and reinforce that area.

Chelsea are set to end the specualtion that’s linking Juan Mata away from Chelsea with an improved contract that would keep him at Chelsea until 2018 and on 100k per weeks wages.

I found this in the Metro. There is supposedly going to be a buyout clause of £75million on it as well so I think it is safe to say we have him for a long time to come.

Manchester United landing Cesc Fabregas is set to trigger the sale of Wayne Rooney to Chelsea

I found this in the Daily Star. I have heard that Moyes wants to bring in Fabregas and Felliani for his midfield but he needs to fund the move for one of them by selling players, they want to sell Rooney for £30million this would give them the funding for Felliani and still give them £5millions left over to go towards the purchase of Fabregas. Felliani has a buyout clause of £25million but that only stands till the 4th August this summer.

Jose Mourinho plans to hold Frank Lampard back for the games that really matter to Chelsea

I found this in the Daily Mirror. He is going to use him in the big games and the one’s that matter the most to us.

Chelsea are so confident of signing Wayne Rooney they are not looking at any other striker targets

I found this in the Daily Star. I’m not sure how true this is we will have to wait and see what happens.

luipz isn’t leaving. not for 29 mil. not for anything under 45. i think a 50-55 mil bid will test our resolve. i doubt barcelona has that kind of financial muscle.
