GAME WINNER AND MAN OF THE MATCH- FERNANDO TORRES!

A big relief and huge celebration at Sunday’s big clash of the Billionaires of the EPL at Stamford Bridge. The game winner and Man Of The Match Fernando Torres carried the Blues of London to a huge win and a well deserved 3 points against Man City. Jose Mourinho couldn’t have asked for a better performance as a perfect, top performance by El Nino sealed the win.
With yet another big game, this time a London derby against an in-form Arsenal coming this Tuesday in Capital One Cup, let’s analyze quickly the big takeaways from this massive win for the Blues. Perfect starting 11, Good striker choice, Good defensive partnership and IMPACT substitutes- Jose got it all perfect and lined up before the game to lead us to victory against his rival at the other dugout Manuel Pellegrini.
1. Good choice by Mou to select Torres upfront..
Jose Mourinho carried on with his striker from the last outing against FC Schalke in the mid-week away win in the Champions League by sticking with Nando. Torres didn’t disappoint by assisting the first goal for Schurrle and scoring the game winner in the 90th minute to send the Chelsea fans at the bridge on their feet and erupting with joy. Who will start against Arsenal on Tuesday? we will see that later on but, prediction is that Eto’o will get the nod ahead of Torres to give him break and maybe unleash him late on against the gunners.
2. Chances need to be taken seriously..
The Blues had the chance to kill the game early on in 1st half as Gary Cahill and Fernando Torres missed open chances on goal against Joe hart that surely could have put the game to bed. But, Aguero’s goal made it difficult for us if it was not for Torres’ late winner to sent a huge relief through all CFC fans. Mourinho certainly has got things to tell his players in that regard of taking chances and not squandering it.
3. Andre Schurrle displayed intelligence of German finishers…
The German winger positioned himself very well for the opener as he got at the end of the assist by Torres. It was a great chance taken well by Schurrle who has adopted very well to the EPL that he gave Jose good reason to start him against the so-called ‘title favorites’ Manchester City. The German has a great chance to replicate the finishing touches of his great country men like Klose, Mueller, Beckenbaur and others in case if he plays upfront in some games. But, his play from either wing clearly suites the style of Jose Mourinho’s team and he is clearly on top of his form.
4. Mourinho’s team gelling well into plan…
The Portuguese manager’s favored line-up of 4-2-3-1, counterattacking formation is coming off really good in the last two games as we succeed on stopping their dangerous attacks and hitting them on the counter as his previous Real Madrid used to last season and before against passing teams like Barca. That’s a true Jose master plan and it worked out perfectly against Man City. The transition to a 3-5-2 in desperate situations to win games can be applied in danger situations against teams that sit deep, but this looks fine and the best formation for us as also was shown against Bayern in super cup in August.
5. Fernando Torres played his perfect and best game in Chelsea shirt…clear MotM!!
EL NINO silenced his critics once again and displayed a huge courage and passion for the blues in this big win by getting an assist and a goal for Chelsea. despite a great performance by Ivanovic, Schurrle, Oscar and Hazard; Fernando Torres is the clear choice for this game’s Man of the Match award and it looks as if he will continue this great form in the later stages of the season as we battle in all fronts for many trophies.
Congrats for all fans and readers for this big win against our EPL title contenders. This put us in 2nd in the table comfortably and the title challenge for the Blues looks well on plan. With the two Manchester clubs in desperate situations in mid-table, its between the London clubs to battle it out for the EPL trophy even though we shouldn’t count out the two teams from Manchester. We will discuss a likely win against Arsenal in midweek game in capital one cup and thanks for reading. Follow on twitter (@FahmiCFC)

  1. I would still pick his (Torres) goal against barcelona in our run to the CL trophy as his best goal in the blue jersey but not to take the Joy and Relieve out of this match winning goal, my vote fro Man of The Match…. This win sends a message, builds our confidence and improves our team play

Who will be the team against Arsenal on Tuesday?
    🙂 🙂 🙂
Good job blues!!! I’m so happy 😀
But I feel a little bit sad for mata and Luiz!!! We know that Cahill and schurrle performance is really good!!! Let’s see the next match
    COLOMBIA CHELSEA <3

  3. What a luvly play and performance by Fernando Torres. I hope he can keep it up bcos chelsea av a big clash against their epl rivals and other clubs.

  4. Sammy mwaura

Torres should start against Arsenal on tuesday

  5. Form is temporary but class is permanent. Cliche but true. When the Spaniard is in top form (which I don’t think he is yet),he is easilly the best 9 in the world.
Hazard had a poor game. Oscar was average and Cahill should be critisised for playing Aguero onside. If it was Luiz, the media and fickle fans would have made an issue about it. You can tell by Cech’s reaction,he knows Aguero had it to easy.
The crowd chanting Nando’s name gave me goose bumps,it was electric! I miss commenting 🙁

      true

    • I agree about Hazard’s poor game. Oscar wasn’t so inspired but worked hard for the team. Cahill was good; unfortunately he made a mistake with Kun Aguero. As for Luiz, he has a very good technique but some times he plays with arrogance and loses concentration. I think he could play in the back 4 with Mikel and Rami as CM. But Jose’s plans are different. He always prefers Lampard and Rami as CM and so far it is the best solution.

luiz is a serial offender though! gary cahill rarely makes mistakes like that

  6. Yeah if it were luiz that kept aguero onside, the media would filled their papers with silly headlines…..

  7. Very happy for Nando’s form, always scoring a winning goal for Chelsea, I hope he keeps it going, Mou line up n subs was fantastic

  8. Those plastic fans tlkin trash aba mou should com out again, wer are dey?. It’s really shameful seeing people highlighting foolishly’ miss and judging him by a mistake meanwhile he’s actually on beast mode! Football is being ruined by some kids who watch football by highlights and scores on Livescore.A shame really…

Every plater in blue played well but man of the match was Torres he was indispensable today at his very best. This must be one of the best games i have seen play for a long time in blue. Come on mighty blue. Cfc forever. I like Mourinho’s celebration almost stole the show. lol

Now it is time to warn not only our epl rivals but also the top European teams! we should face real Madrid in knock out stages of UCL this season go past them by taking revenge for pre season defeat. By the way i still feel for Mata, our best player for past two seasons. Hope that Juan will adapt more to Jose style and be a regular first team member soon.

  11. every player did well.is a balancd game wher both teams scored through a moment of madnes.but the blues now won with torres masterclas & tenacity which lead 2 schurles goal.when our defence made the mistake,i knew that is a matter of time before they wil make their own mistake.up chelsea.

  12. haahahahhahahahahha good article admin bah I knew Chelsea ll score city cus anytime Chelsea play city without calito tevez id a win 4 us so I was delighted wen dat guy left e EPL cus he’s a pure nemesis 4 Chelsea

  13. Jose should pls Inject Mata into staring XI cus is the key man for us, when Mata play 10 for us and Demba ba at front, we play very well and we become nitemare to all our opponents. At the midfield Mikel , ramires while ramires would going forward to support the attackers which is very good at that then Mata, Oscar and Harzard. i know my opinion would be small to the Jose himself but its just advice.

    • I agree with Mikel-Rami as CM (so Luiz can play in the back 4) but as far I think that the best option as AM is Schurrle-Oscar-Hazard and sometimes Willian. Mata is great but he has to work hard to integrate himself in JM tactic plans.

    • Mata has to work really hard to star the matches!!!! He has to do a really good work like Torres, schurrle and Cahill that earn their position in the team!!!! Is sad but if you see the team is playing better game by game!! And if a team is wining games and scoring goals, you have to keep it!!!

I have a better term than Battle of the Billionaires, just as LA LIGA has EL-CLASSICO, we are fortunate to have a similar type of clash but here is the twist,I call it EL-CASHICO,n don’t bother translating it,having a spanish named derby is just the same as having double naming of species in latin just as ‘Musa domestica’ is a latin name for housefly hope you get it and anyway, enough bout all that gibberish am a die hard of Chelsea since way back when and it’s good to see Torres going back to his monstrous self as a bionic goal machine and will be happier when his name is mentioned it gives a kind of an eerie that The Undertaker of wrestling gets cause I remember the times I would dread watching Chelsea against Liverpool and Torres would give me nightmares and am not even closely associated other than been a devout follower of THE BLUEZ,that is the monster Chelsea desrves,I hope and pray he is back,Africa is where am from 254 is the code and that is Kenya

  16. I agree with this story.
    I support Fernando Torres
    I love Fernando Torres
    Thank you for information sharing
