REPORT: John Terry close to penning a new deal?

Soccer - Barclays Premier League - Chelsea v Queens Park Rangers - Stamford BridgeChelsea captain John Terry who is having an incredible season for the club in the premier league by starting every single match in the league, is reportedly close to signing a new 1 year contract to stay at Stamford Bridge beyond this summer. The legend’s 150,000 pound per-week contract signed 5 years ago comes to an end this summer.

And Galatasaray among other European teams were seriously interested in John Terry’s services for the next 3 years. The move to Turkey was rumored as a result of the fact that Terry wants a three year contract to remain at one club for the twilight of his career.

But, those speculations may now come to an end as Daily Mail (not always reliable source of course) are reporting the Blues have offered a 1 year contract as is the policy set by Roman Abramovic and his right-hand woman, Marina Granoviskia.

And the Captain may sign the deal and play his 17th season at the club were he came in through the academy system.

Terry, 33, had wanted a two-year deal, but was told Chelsea policy for players over the age of 30 is to offer only 12 months. He has accepted this and is hoping to start his 17th season as a professional with Chelsea in August. Daily Mail

This is a great news to all Chelsea fans concerned and also for Jose Mourinho who resurrected the defenders career as one of the finest in the world even at the age of 33 since returning this summer. And as a result, the Chelsea captain, along with his center back partner Gary Cahill, is in the run to feature in PFA’s team of the year come the end of May.

  1. 150,000 pounds a week???? Now that’s utterly absurd for our captain, legend and warrior!! That said, nothing will make me more happy than seeing him spend the rest of his life with the team…

  2. Thank you, an exceptionally interesting read instructions put into bookmarks so will probably come back for first time written content and to examine some other people’s remarks. Take care all over again.
