Jose Mourinho has claimed Ashley Cole WILL go to the World Cup – even if he cannot win back his place at Chelsea.
The Blues’ boss made it clear he will stick with Cesar Azpilicueta at left back rather than bringing back the 100 cap England Veteran Cole. The Special one said “I cannot think about national teams at the same time I am thinking about my team”.” There are national team managers who are very clear: they go with their players. It doesn’t matter if the player is playing for the club, they go with their players”. “Others are influenced by whether the player is playing or not. There are different theories. There are people who like players who didn’t play particularly well in the season. Why? Because they are fresher, stronger, have more energy, don’t have the mental fatigue of competition, and are more ready [for a summer tournament].
When asked about quick return for Cole, Jose said “I’m very happy right now with the way Azpilicueta is performing”.
