How tomorrow’s match is Special

Tomorrow sees Chelsea take on Villa away, a match for which 3 points could be decisive for Chelsea in the title race. But that is not what I’m going to talk about. Last season, history was made in this fixture. Frank Lampard who was just 1 goal shy of reaching Legend Bobby Tambling’s 202 goal record for Chelsea, stroke home a beautiful left foot volley to beat Guzan and give Chelsea the equalizer.

He became our joint top goalscorer for the club. But that wasn’t it. 2 minutes from full time, it looked as if Chelsea’s hope of champions league spot for 3rd place as draw would leave us out of the top 3 but Lampard scored his 2nd of the match, courtesy of a play began by Hazard, and then history was made.

He said in the interview that after his 2nd goal, he wanted to celebrate with the fans but he was already on a yellow card.

Lampard, still playing at the age of 35, is our current all time top goal scorer in history. After that result, we finished the season 3rd with champions league secured for next season.
