Our first match of the month saw us take on Fulham in a london derby. Fulham were playing with their 3rd new manager of the season. The match didn’t start well as Fulham attacked Chelsea most of the time and they even came close to scoring but couldn’t take their chances well. Second half begin, Schurrle scored to give Chelsea the lead in the 51st minute. Just 13 minutes later, Schurrle scored again thanks to an amazing pass by Hazard. 3 minutes later, a pass from Torres saw Schurrle score his first hattrick for Chelsea against Fulham. The host pulled a goal back at the 73rd minute courtesy of a fail cleared corner from Chelsea, Heitinga scoring a rebound. The match ended 3-1 win for us.

March 8th
Chelsea vs Spurs
Stamford Bridge

Our 2nd london derby was against Spurs at the bridge. The match started in neutral fashion as both the host and away side had mixed chances, Hazard in particular to score the first goal as he rounded the keeper but took the shot before positioning himself, missing the goal but it was not a sitter. Second half, 55th minute, a horrible back pass from Vertonghen saw Eto’o capitalize and score the first goal of the match with a celebration as shown on the picture above. 4 minutes later, Eto’o fouled in the box by Kaboul, which saw him sent off, Hazard scored from the spot to make it 2-0. Not much happened later but at the 87th minute, Ba scored for Chelsea to make it 3-0, and less than 70 seconds, Ba scored again after a horrible back pass header from Walker saw Ba tackle Lloris and get his 2nd goal. Dominant display from Chelsea in the 2nd half, 4-0 win.

March 15th
Villa vs Chelsea
Villa Park

Picture says it all, Villa vs Chelsea ended as a disappointing match for us, as we lost 1-0. In the first half, it looked as if Chelsea finally got the lead when Matic scored after a corner but was ruled out as he hand balled the ball before hitting it. 2nd half began Chelsea’s frustation as Willian was first sent off for a small tackle, 2nd yellow card for him, and then the host took the lead in the 81st minute before Ramires and Jose were sent off at the last period of the match. A title blow to us after this loss.

March 18th
Chelsea vs Galatasaray
Stamford Bridge

Our 2nd leg of round of 16 against Gala was up after we draw the 1st leg, 1-1. The match got off to a great start as we took the lead courtesy of Eto’o’s shot which beat the keeper. Then just before half time, a corner routine helped Chelsea to a 2nd goal as Cahill took a volley shot to give Chelsea a 2-0 lead. Not much in the 2nd half, but Chelsea won on aggregate 3-1, advancing to quarter finals.

March 22nd
Chelsea vs Arsenal
Stamford Bridge
hit for 6

Our 3rd london derby of the month saw us take on Arsenal on Wenger’s 1000th match in charge of Arsenal. Great start as we took the lead at the 4th minute, from an amazing curl shot from Eto’o. 2 minutes later, Schurrle scored to give a 2-0 lead. At the 16th minute, controversy came as it looked Chamberlain handled the ball but the ref sent off Gibbs instead. Hazard scored from the penalty to give a 3-0 lead to Chelsea. Oscar scored in the 42nd minute to give Chelsea a 4-0 lead going into halftime. Second half, Oscar scored again in the 65th minute to give a 5 goal lead. 4 minutes later, Salah scored his first goal for Chelsea to give a 6 goal lead. HIT FOR SIX as Chelsea won 6-0 on Wenger’s 1000th match in charge of Arsenal.

March 29th
Palace vs Chelsea
Selhurst Park
Hazard disappointment

Once again, picture says it all. Our last match of the month saw us take on Palace away. It was the host who kept us under pressure in the 1st half and were rewarded in the 2nd half for their attack as a Terry own goal saw us lose 1-0 to Palace, suffering a big blow and lowering more chance of us taking the title in May.

  2. Nice article, but Admin, where’s ERVIN & SHERRY PHILLIPS? They made this site what it is, and I suggest you get articles from them from time to time. Sherry’s a brilliant tactical analyst, and I respected her article in our game against Shakhtar Donetsk, and that was the first place I got to know about Willian before we ever played the game, cos she asked that we watch out for him. You need more life on this site.

Any other CFC websites??? WIth fresh and sound articles I could bookmark??? Pls advise.
