Chelsea striker, Loic Remy is set to leave the club this summer and a host of clubs have been put on alert by this news. Express reported in June that Remy will seek assurances over his place in the Chelsea team after it was confirmed Radamel Falcao will be joining on loan from Monaco.
Crystal Palace, Swansea, Tottenham, Newcastle and Besiktas are now said to be keen on the former Marseille hitman, with Crystal palace “very hopeful” of beating their rivals to the player’s signature.
As per the Mirror, Remy is the Eagles’ number one striker target ahead of the likes of QPR’s Charlie Austin and Leicester’s Leonardo Ulloa.
Alan Pardew wants the France international to follow Yohan Cabaye – who recently joined from PSG this summer – to Selhurst Park.
Remy joined Chelsea last summer from QPR after reportedly failing a medical with Liverpool who said the 28-year old’s health has “issues”. He joined Chelsea later on and became the club’s third-choice striker behind Diego Costa and Blues’ legend, Didier Drogba last term.
Although he spent majority of the season on the bench, he scored seven crucial goals and ended this season with Premier League and Capital One Cup medals.
Turkish club, Besiktas have been reported to have sent representatives to London to hold talks over the potential summer transfer of Remy.
Besiktas let striker Demba Ba leave for Shanghai Shenhua and have earmarked Remy as his replacement. With these interests in the ex-QPR star, a move to the London club or Besiktas seems the most likely.
Chelsea have, according to the Telegraph, put a £15 million price tag on Remy. The move to either of the two clubs will benefit them, as well as Remy from a playing time perspective.
Meanwhile, Chelsea have Antoine Griezmann and Pedro Rodriguez as targets this summer. The Stamford Bridge club have so far signed only Radamel Falcao (loan) and Asmir Begovic.
