Chelsea are looking to spend big this summer with Matt Law from The Telegraph stating Chelsea have £200m + player sales adding onto that budget for this summer.
Todd Boehly and Tuchel have held meetings and it’s understood Boehly will hand full power to Tuchel over player sales and also targets in a move designed to mirror what Man City and Liverpool allowed Klopp and Pep to do.
Chelsea fans have been wanting Tuchel backed and it seems this window not only he will, but the signings made will also be his targets rather than the board hierarchy’s.
Chelsea have interest in Ousmane Dembele but there’s no agreement, despite some reports from supposed ITK’s over on Twitter. Chelsea also have Nkunku and Sterling on their list.
Jules Kounde is Chelsea’s priority defensive target and they are hoping to sign him. Todd Boehly is also reportedly ready to fund a move for Juventus star De Ligt, if Tuchel decides he’s a better option than Josko Gvardiol.
Todd Boehly made it clear in the meeting with Tuchel they will do everything they can to deliver his targets and move on players he doesn’t want. Tuchel will be working in the short term with Marina Granovskia, however her future is uncertain long term.
“ Previously, Chelsea have worked with Tuchel and his predecessors to identify and pursue mutually beneficial targets with the club having a greater say over sales, which is not uncommon within the Premier League and Europe “
“ But the focus this summer is likely to be on delivering Tuchel’s recommendations, in terms of incomings and outgoings, with Boehly himself also involved in transfer discussions “
Matt Law – The Telegraph
It promises to be a busy summer for Chelsea with Tuchel also having to review and decide on academy stars Levi Colwill, Conor Gallagher and Armando Broja whilst undoubtedly looking at Ethan Ampadu, Billy Gilmour and Dujon Sterling.
