Liverpool and Chelsea have been a huge sack of inconsistency this season as both teams prepare to lock heads on Saturday. Both Chelsea and Liverpool will be going into the game with the goal being to start gradually lingering towards familiar territory on the Premier League table, such a huge fixture has a element of rareness to it with both teams sitting 9th and 10th respectively.
Whatever the outcome is, there is already more than enough pressure for both Klopp and Potter to deal with from the outside as fans of both clubs only give more reason for the media to entice reactions out of the managers.
Liverpool team news :
None of Arthur Melo, Luiz Diaz, Roberto Firmino and Virgil van Dijk will be back for Liverpool in time for this crunching fixture. However, Darwin Nunez is expected to make the team list after an unexpected setback prior to the Wolves game. Allison Becker, Andy Robertson, Mohammed Salah, Joel Matip and Fabinho are all expected to be back in the starting XI.
Chelsea team news :
Chelsea’s newest addition Mykhailo Mudryk is expected to be in line to make his very well anticipated debut for the club after completing a sensational move from Ukrainian side Shakter. Kai Havertz who missed training on Wednesday was present in the Thursday session and the German is expected to lead the line at Anfield.
Despite resuming training during the week, Reece James and Ben Chilwell are expected to watch from the stands as manager Graham Potter is reluctant to gamble on the pair. Despite the return of Chilwell and Reece James, Chelsea are still missing the likes of Dennis Zakaria, Sterling, Wesley Fofana, Pulisic, Broja, Mendy and Kante through injuries . Joao Felix will be out through suspension as well.
Liverpool vs Chelsea predicted line ups :
Allison, Trent, Matip, Kounate, Robertson, Fabinho, Thiago, Elliot, Gakpo, Nunez, Salah.
Kepa, Chalobah, Thiago Silva, Badiashile, Hall, Kovacic, Jorginho, Gallagher, Mount, Aubameyang, Ziyech.
My preferred Chelsea line up :
Kepa, Chalobah, Thiago Silva, Badiashile, Hall, Kovacic, Jorginho, Mount, Mudryk, Havertz, Ziyech.
Score prediction – Liverpool 1-1 Chelsea
This is a game Chelsea and Potter can’t afford to lose despite the obvious circumstances. A positive result against an equally struggling side is a must. However, with the Anfield crowd screaming for blood, Chelsea must put on a show to show signs of progress after the surge in recruitment and put together what would be a rare two game winning streak.
