Sources: Chelsea plan Manuel Ugarte move internally

Sources have told LondonsFirst that Chelsea have been discussing a move for Manuel Ugarte internally.

LondonsFirst exclusively reported that Chelsea scouts were following Manuel Ugarte in Sporting’s game vs Juventus in April.

Internally, Chelsea have been floating the idea of offering players on loan as a potential sweetener.

The likes of Carney Chukweumeka and Andrey Santos have been discussed between the hierarchy so that Sporting would not have to sign a midfield replacement.

Chelsea see Ugarte as someone who can play both the number 6 and number 8 positions.

As widely reported, Jorge Mendes is working on the deal, which could give confidence to Chelsea after recent dealings with Todd Boehly.
