Player ratings: Chelsea on verge of Europa after Seagull bashing

Chelsea are on the verge of playing in the Europa League following a 2-1 victory against Brighton.

The Blues controlled the match and created an abundance of chances, only for Reece James to get a stupid red card and put pressure on.

Chelsea conceded late but still did enough to win, let’s take a look at todays ratings..

Djordje Petrovic – 6

Just the one save tonight as Brighton seemed to love the woodwork instead. Not a busy performance but was equally just minutes from a clean sheet.

Malo Gusto – 7

Brilliant as usual and got himself a nice assist in the second half. We will see him again on Sunday providing he isn’t injured.

Trevoh Chalobah – 7

Really solid, supported well in buildup and in general had a pretty good evening.

Benoit Badiashile – 7

Much the same as Chalobah, quietly very tidy tonight and dealt with pressure well in periods.

Marc Cucurella – 7

Very good again tonight and got a lovely assist for our opener. Brighton can boo all they like, but we’ve got a fantastic player that should be here next season.

Moises Caicedo – 7

Wonderful again, nothing out of the ordinary but just very good as he has been in recent weeks.

Conor Gallagher – 6

Not bad, not superb, a standard shift tonight.

Cole Palmer – 7

Yet another goal, this one being a beautiful header looping over Verbruggen. Surely he’s on England’s plane to Germany?

Noni Madueke – 6

Much like the Forest game, pretty ineffective tonight i would say.

Nicolas Jackson – 6

Unfortunate to have a disallowed goal, which I felt was very harsh – Brighton had a lot go their way tonight. Overall, not poor though.

Mykhailo Mudryk – 5

Never truly in the game really and had to go off early due to concussion. Not enough for a red card though for Lamptey?!

Mauricio Pochettino – 7

Good result again and 4 wins in a row now with a chance to end the season with a fifth. He’ll be here next season.

Christopher Nkunku – 7

Looked brilliant when on and scored a really nice goal in the second half. About time we got the balloon!

Raheem Sterling – N/A

Reece James – N/A

Not on long enough to get a rating but I must add, made a silly decision to lash out and will now miss the beginning of next season.

Cesare Casadei – N/A

Lesley Ugochukwu – N/A
