According to a report from Germany Sky Sport reporter Florian Plettenberg, Chelsea have registered interest in Max Beier.
Beier, who scored 16 goals in the Bundesliga last season for Hoffenheim, is 21 years old.
The hunt continues for a new striker after bids were rejected for Samu Omorodion recently.
Chelsea have interest in Jhon Duran but are yet to seriously pursue a deal.
