Player ratings: Chelsea smash PSG 3-0 to become Champions of the World

CHELSEA ARE WORLD CHAMPIONS. I REPEAT…. CHELSEA ARE WORLD CHAMPIONS.

Against all the odds, we were ruled out to win! Predictions going 5-0 PSG etc etc…. But nah we had other plans! Never ever rule us out in a final! Munich 2021 and Porto 2021 andddd…. NOWWWW AMERICA 2025!!

A dominant strong display from Chelsea has led to them being crowned Fifa Club World Cup Champions! A mediocre group stage performance from the boys and the growth in performances each game has led us to this point!

Chelsea can now have few weeks rest before they get going again for the Premier League campaign.

Well done to the players and the manager for making this possible to witness.

UP THE CHELS!!!

Robert Sanchez – 10 (MOTM)

Is this Sanchez? Or is this cech morphed into sanchez body?! What a performance, his best in a Chelsea shirt for sure. A great save from Doue to his left and distribution has been very sharp, influential for the first goal too! My word the saves in the second half were insane!

Malo Gusto- 9.5

Unplayable and a strong performance! Arguably his best in a Chelsea shirt. A great take from Mendez error, followed by a Cruyff turn to set up Palmers wonderful goal.

Trevoh Chalobah- 8.5

Solid as a rock and dealt with the interchanging of PSG’s front three well. Aerial threats and mopped up everything, Trev proves again why he should be staying.

Levi Colwill – 8

Another great performance with the 1v1 defending and the line breaking passing. Did quite a bit of defending especially in the second half to put out any sort of comeback. Cannot wait to see Levi’s progression through to next season

Marc Cucurella- 8.5

A goal saving interception in the first half to keep us in the game. Kept Doue very quiet and didn’t offer him a sniff in attack. I still cannot believe the turn around this guy has had for us! Priceless…

Reece James – 7

Managing the pivot well in transition and stopping PSG from finding any rhythm with strong tackles. Struggled a bit with the intensity and went off with what looks like a minor injury, lets pray he’s okay.

Moises Caicedo- 9

I don’t ever get tired writing about this guy!! Another monster performance especially the ankle blow he took last Tuesday. How does Caicedo constantly maintain these kinds of performances! Tackles, interceptions and energy unreal!

Pedro Neto – 8

Endless work rate by nullifying the forward runs by Hakimi. Final third ball was lacking but a solid performance to help the team and nullify the outlet and helping Cucurella.

Enzo Fernandez – 7

Nice one touch football at times and great diagonal switches to start attacks as usual! Constantly involved in supporting attacks and endless defensive work. Hope the injury isn’t too serious…

Cole Palmer – 10

Palmer again ole ole!!!!! A clever left footed finish into the bottom corner to put us 1-0 up! Caused mendez so many problems with his unpredictability. Another replicated finish to put us 2 up! Palmer turning up again in a final/big game. The constant ball retention and tricks down the wing kickstarted plenty of attacks where he could’ve had a hat-trick

Joao Pedro- 8.5

WHAT A STATEMENT SIGNING!!! A cool and composed dink to have us 3 up and 1 hand on the world champions trophy!! Great work rate and runs down the line to stretch the PSG back 4 and a constant nuisance against the CB’s

Subs:

Andrey Santos- 6.5

Martialed the defence well and aggressive in midfield tailored with the same energy Fernandez was providing. Great to see Santos get more minutes for us.

Liam Delap- 6.5

Very unlucky to not score after a great save by Donnarumma. Held up the ball better compared to other games and proved to be a good substitute at a good time.

Kiernan Dewsbury-Hall- N/A

Christopher Nkunku- N/A

Maresca – 10

Our gaffer wow! A perfectly executed display with the starting 11 and the in game tactical switches. Especially the Palmer and Gusto dynamic, massive blueprint!! Thats 2 trophies in the bag which can’t be said for some!!! Enzo Marescas tactics have massively developed and grown within the tournament and he’s improving each game! Excited to see what he has in store for us in the future!
