The team battled through and deservedly got three points.
The manager and the funds have to take so much credit for the way they push the team on.
We now head into the International break with a long list of injuries which is the positive but type of momentum is probably come at the wrong time for us because would you be titleholders Liverpool? There’s always gonna be that confidence.
Sanchez- 6
Distribution was careless at times but claimed crosses from free kicks/corners quite well.
Gusto- 6.5
Defended pretty well on his side but going forward he was slow and lethargic especially with his passing.
Acheampong- 8.5
Wow what a return to the starting 11 for our cobham boy! Dealt with Isak as if he was an experienced CB playing there for us in years. This is only the start for him and will progressively get better.
Badiashile – 9
Absolutely monstrous at the back and commanded the back well and his build up play is something we have missed coming out of Colwills game.
Cucurella- 9
Kept Salah in his pocket for the entire game! Was tight to him for most of it and supported the attack as much as possible too.
James- 8
A solid game for our skipper! Didn’t give Gakpo any time on the ball to try and attack , and kept on body checking Kerkez and Gakpo down that left side.
Caicedo – 9.5 (MOTM)
CAICEDO ONLY SCORES BANGERS!!!!! I mean what a performance. Breathless, aggressive, dominating and absolutely relentless.
Ground and aerial duels Caicedo was there to snuff out and it was a complete performance from our best player!
Neto- 7.5
Worked relentlessly throughout the half, especially defensively , doubled up on Kerkez and marked him a few times which was critical to us defending well. Going forward could have been decisive but he’s critical to our game plan.
Enzo Fernandez- 7
Was sharp and aggressive in his tackling
Garnacho -5.5
Had chances to exploit the liverpool defence but didn’t capitalise.
Joao Pedro – 6.5
Was battling hard against the CB’s and was fairly quiet in front of goal. Him as a striker limits his best attributes

Very good off the bench and looked a bit more like pre season Gittens! Confidence booster for him hopefully.

Looked composed on and off the ball and slotted in well.

Finally we got Guiu minutes! The pressing was unreal and rattled the likes of Van Dijk and Gravenberch! Hopefully we see more of him
Lavia: 7
Looked solid and stable in midfield , controlled and dominated the midfield. Could have done much better for the Liverpool goal
Maresca: 8
A questionable starting 11 once again with no Lavia from the get go which proved to work well for us last year. Question marks of not starting Estevao as well as he seems like the only shining light in our attack right now.
The changes he made were spot on and has to take a lot of credit for tactical tweaks by inviting gusto and playing reece at right back
