Anthony Barry stays at Chelsea

Frank Lampard is set to be appointed as new Everton manager on a 2 and a half year contract having previously been proposed more of a interim role, Lampard won in contract negotiations.

One influential figure close to Moshiri pressed hard for Lampard to be interviewed, and although things never got to that stage, a seed had been sown.

The vocal figure was insistent that Lampard’s inactivity since his 18-month stint at Stamford Bridge ended with the sack should not cloud his vast potential as a manager. He resumed the lobbying after Benitez’s dismissal arguing that Lampard was a modern manager, with the sort of fresh approach required and the charisma to win the fans over.

According to the Athletic, Lampard did a very good presentation which involved detailed tactics and style of play which he wanted to implement.

Anthony Barry held positive talks with Everton but a stumbling block emerged when he did not push to leave Chelsea.
