Antonio Rudiger is seeking £225,000 to sign a new contract, per a new report from The Athletic’s Simon Johnson.
Chelsea are hopeful that problems will be solved with all 3 of Azpi, Christensen and Rudiger but this new update comes as a bit of a shock as Rudiger was asking for £200,000 originally, and that couldn’t even be agreed.
No new defender has signed a pre contract as it stands, and one insider has told The Athletic that Rudiger has rejected a £173,000 P/W proposal from Real Madrid.
Thomas Tuchel and Cech, Marina are in contact and plans are already in place should defenders leave.
It is also believed that some other players have already intimated they would like to sign a new contract, and it would just be about sorting numbers.
