BlueCo, Chelsea’s ownership group, have agreed a £12m + add ons fee to sign Julio Enciso.
The former Brighton and Ipswich player will first move to sister club Strasbourg, with a potential move to Stamford Bridge in the future.
Enciso, 21, is a central attacking midfield player and Chelsea have seen an opportunity on the market and pounced.
It is thought that Enciso could either be used as a profit flip or fit into Maresca’s future plans.
Strasbourg have already developed Andrey Santos, and current loanees from Chelsea include Mike Penders, Kendry Paez and Mamadou Sarr.
