Chelsea’s 2022/23 fixtures were revealed at 9am Uk time this morning by the premier league, fans of every club eagerly awaited to see their opening fixtures, amongst every other one. When are the big fixtures? When are the big derbies? These are all questions fans had in their heads as the fixture list dropped.
For Chelsea, their opening day fixture will be Everton Away, a ground that has haunted them so many times over the years, perhaps it’s good to get it out the way so early on rather than face them when Chelsea are potentially chasing Liverpool and Man City or fighting for Top 4 again?
Frank Lampard’s Everton are no easy test, Chelsea played one of their worst games of last season away at Goodison, it was a boring, dull display which Everton won 1-0 via a Richarlison goal. It’s unclear whether he will be there next season as many clubs are interested.
Chelsea will them face Tottenham at Stamford Bridge in game two. Tottenham have already signed Ivan Perisic, Yvess Bissouma, Fraser Forester and are closing in on deals for Djed Spence, amongst others.
Chelsea’s full fixture list can be found below, my two stand outs are Chelsea’s games against Nottingham Forrest on New Year’s Eve and Manchester City a few days later. These fixtures should be really difficult, especially so close together.
