Chelsea’s move for Xavi Simons has been hijacked by Spurs who paid a price of £51m + add ons reaching £60m.

Chelsea did not accept to match the fee and Xavi gave the green light late last night.

The Blues responded today by targeting Brighton’s Facundo Buonanotte, who was on loan at Leicester last season.

Chelsea have agreed to sign the player on loan, and there will be no option to buy him permanently.
