Chelsea fall out of the FA Cup at an early stage, at the hands of Brighton, who came into the game off the back of a 7-0 defeat.
Totally and utterly embarrassing, here’s my player ratings from tonight’s 2-1 defeat :
Robert Sanchez – 5
No positives to take from him, no convincingly good moments. Just generally a night to forget for everyone. His passing accuracy numbers were poor, again.
Malo Gusto – 4
Really poor tonight, and I actually thought he just seemed weak all over. Won just one of 10 ground duels and didn’t offer any sort of threat going forward.
Tosin Adarabioyo – 5
Hard to find any positives in a defence that looked shaky throughout the game. A high nine clearances made tonight from Tosin, and he wasn’t too bad in the passing department. No higher than a five though. Hardly anyone deserves that.
Trevoh Chalobah – 5
Much the same as Tosin. A fair few clearances but nothing else to add.
Marc Cucurella – 5
A more reasonable performance than many, I would suggest, but given the defeat I’m sticking with a five.
Moises Caicedo – 7
As always, our best performer by a disgustingly large distance. It feels like he’s the only player that actually shows an ounce of effort weekly right now. 11/14 ground duels won, 93% pass completion too and resisted Brighton’s press better than anyone else did.
Kiernan Dewsbury-Hall – 5
Dull and ordinary. As I’ve always said, I have absolutely nothing against him, I just don’t think he offers us anything at all.
Pedro Neto – 4
Expected he might have kicked on after aiding our improvement on Monday. But no, just a whole lot of nothing this evening, no threat at all.
Cole Palmer – 5
He did “score” bit didn’t get much into the game after that. Not his night and it’s becoming a bit regular at the moment.
Jadon Sancho – 4
Same as Neto, just really poor. Didn’t offer a major threat to Brighton throughout the game, we’re lacking badly out wide.
Christopher Nkunku – 4
So, so so poor. Hardly involved in the game, made nothing of even the half-chances he was given. Poor.
Substitutes:
Tyrique George – N/A
Noni Madueke – N/A
Enzo Fernandez – 6
At least looked like he wanted to make things happen. Not enough though.
Enzo Maresca – 4
I don’t know where we go from here. We looked void of any real ideas tonight, we had nothing about us and a lot of that ultimately reflects on the manager. Something desperately needs improving or else this rut will continue.
