Chelsea Loan stars and their Fate for next season

Chelsea had 27 players on loan during this season, thats a whole squad of players

Here we will look at some of them, where they played and their likely fates for next season

 

Ryan Bertrand – Aston Villa- Loaned out despite our lack of cover for Ashley Cole at LB with Azpiliqueta drafted in to cover where he flourished – Likely to be sold in the summer

Thibaut Coutois – Athletico Madrid – Spent his 3rd season in Madrid and exceeded expectations so much that he is already one of the worlds best keepers – Chelsea 1st team

Todd Kane – Blackburn Rovers – Established himself as Blackburns 1st choice RB before a Injury ruined the 2nd half of the season –  Sent back out on loan

Romelu Lukaku – Everton – Another good season for the big man from Belgium, Needs to sharpen his skills and instincts with the media though – Chelsea 1st team squad 

Matej Delac –  FK Sarejevo – Big hope for the young man when signed but hasn’t progressed as much as club would have liked and now too many in front of him – Another loan or sold outright

Wallace – Inter Milan –  Sent straight out on loan after purchasing him, had offer from Benfica but he chose Inter where it didn’t go well for him, hardly played at all – Sent back out on loan, perhaps to Vitesse

Victor Moses – Liverpool – Surprisingly sent to Liverpool where he failed to impress – Another loan or sold outright

Kenneth Omeruo – Middlesbrough – Defender with a lot of potential spent the season getting 1st team experience in the championship – 1 more season loan to a premier league team

Nataniel Chalobah – Middlesbrough- England U/21 international with a big future spent season in Championship – Needs to gain Premiership experience so another loan 

Marco Marin – Sevilla – After an injury plagued season at Stamford Bridge he was sent to La Liga where Sevilla have already announced they aren’t interested in extending or buying outright – Sold outright 610x1000

Kurt Zouma – St. Etienne – Highly prized young defender who was purchased in January and sent straight back to St. Etienne, Big things expected – Chelsea 1st team squad

Oriol Romeu – Valencia – Started well under AVB but a few injuries added onto a few bad performances had him loaned back to spain at the start of the season  where he played well – Sold outright to spain

Patrick Van Aanholt – Vitesse – Spent the season impressing for Vitesse and with cole leaving is a chance for the reserve LB position  – Chelsea 1st team squad

Lucas Piazon – Vitesse – Set the world on fire in the 1st half of the Dutch League before fading in the 2nd half, budding superstar – Loan to a premiership club

Christian Atsu – Vitesse – Purchased from Porto and immediately loaned to Vitesse where he was a key performer for the Dutch side – Another loan

Bertrand Traore – Vitesse – Finally able to officially sign for Chelsea and had a great pre-season, got sent to Vitesse for 2nd half of the season where he did some good things – Back to Vitesse

Josh McEachran – Wigan – Made his 1st team debit at 17 but has stalled in counless loans and now its going to be a very long road back – Loan or sold Outright 

Thorgan Hazard – Zulte Waregem – Belgium’s player of the year, Eden’s little brother has blossomed and has a few people asking who will be the better Hazard brother – Loan to a Premiership club after going on the pre-season tour
