Loic Remy was slammed by many footballing experts around the world for his move to relegation strugglers QPR. Blessed with a brilliant pace and a keen eye for goal, the Frenchman was expected to be a hit in Europe with some of the major clubs after moving from Marseille. And his recent failure to secure a move to Liverpool due to failing his medicals added to his misery.
However, with a move to Chelsea Football Club secured, Loic Remy is now confident that he can now answer his critics by performing at the highest level with one of the best clubs in the world, under the guidance of one of the best managers ever. He says that he understands that Diego Costa is the first choice striker at the club, but vows to fight him to be the club’s main striker.
As quoted on the Daily Mirror website, he said: “Being at Chelsea is the perfect response to my critics.
“Many thought I’d fall into obscurity by joining QPR, but look at me now.
“I always try to make the best decisions for my career. I’ve come a long way from all my problems and that is not down to luck but hard work.
“My strength is that I know where I want to go and make the effort to get there.
“When the chance comes up to join a club like Chelsea you can’t say no. The deal was done late in the evening. I was prepared to stay at QPR but I didn’t hesitate for a second when Chelsea came along.
“I know I won’t start out as first-choice striker at Chelsea, but nothing is set in stone. I have my aims.
“I didn’t sign for them in order to sit on the bench. I will try to improve as much as I can alongside their great players, and the rest will happen naturally.”
