Chelsea ownership to decide Pochettino’s fate in crucial meeting

Chelsea are set to decide the future of head coach Mauricio Pochettino in an end of season meeting, according to the latest report from reporter Nizaar Kinsella.

The meeting will include owners Todd Boehly and Behdad Egbhali, as well as Sporting directors Paul Winstanley and Laurence Stewart.

Pochettino does not know his future and has been instead been told to focus on ending the season on a high, and so far he is doing that, with two smashing wins over Spurs and West Ham.

Reports suggest Chelsea want to reach the UEFA Europa League, which would mean Chelsea need to finish 6th in the table, after the initial target of a top four finish was wiped out.

It is thought that Chelsea will judge Pochettino on a variety of bullet points, including the injuries, development of the squad, the training sessions, his man management, key statistical data, tactics and more.

All of these bullet points and factors will lead Chelsea to an overall conclusion, stay or go.

There is also understood to be a possibility that the two parties part way, with Pochettino thought to be unhappy over Chelsea’s reluctance to adapt the current model of youth investment.
