Last week, we took a look at the first set of international fixtures in which the Chelsea players played a part. Now let us draw our attention to the last of the international matches, before the boys return to action in Stamford Bridge.
World Cup Qualifiers
Ethiopia vs Nigeria
Players Involved: John Obi Mikel, Victor Moses(loanee at Liverpool).
Nigeria managed a win against Ethiopia in the first leg of the third round of World Cup qualifiers for the African continent, courtesy a brace from Emmanuel Emenike. Both Mikel & Moses started the match and the latter was substituted after 67 minutes. Mikel dictated Nigeria’s play with couple of influential passes from the middle of the park while Moses failed to impress on the wings.
RESULT: 1-2
Tunisia vs Cameroon
Player Involved: Samuel Eto’o
Eto’o started the game but failed to take his chances, even failing to string passes together at decisive moments. On an overall, it was not an impressive display from the forward.
RESULT: 0-0
Ghana vs Egypt
Player Involved: Michael Essien, Christian Atsu(loanee at Vitesse).
Essien completed the whole 90 minutes while Atsu came on in the last ten minutes. The teenager, on loan at Vitesse, scored a beautiful goal for the Ghanaians, who absolutely thumped Egypt in the last of the qualifers, which was expected to be a close contest.
RESULT: 6-1

Bulgaria vs Czech Republic
Player Involved: Petr Cech
Cech kept a clean sheet, making four good saves in this meaningless qualifier as Czech Republic got eliminated due to Denmark’s win against Malta.
RESULT: 0-1
Sweden vs Germany
Player Involved: Andre Schuerrle
Schuerrle has been putting in tremendous performances over the last few weeks, this time scoring a hattrick for his nation. The first one – he created for himself, the second was a simple push into the far corner, but the third was an absolute beauty bound to impress football fans across the globe.
RESULT: 3-5

The Three Lions needed to win this to ensure automatic qualification and they exactly did that. A late first half goal from Wayne Rooney and a second half goal from Gerrard helped England pack off Poland. Cahill started & completed the match while Lampard came on at 70 minute mark.
RESULT: 2-0
Spain vs Georgia
Player Involved: Juan Mata
Mata scored Spain’s second as he finally got a run-in with the national team. At the right place in the right time. Johnny Kills!!!

International Friendlies
Serbia vs Macedonia
Player Involved: Branislav Ivanovic
One of those meaningless international friendlies where Ivanovic & his Serbia dominated Macedonia.
RESULT: 5-1
Brazil vs Zambia
Players Involved: Oscar, Ramires, David Luiz.
Ramires & Luiz started and Oscar was a second-half substitute. Ramires was Ramires-like dynamic in the first 45 minutes after which he was subbed off. Oscar scored Brazil’s first & there was an influx of creativity when he came on. Luiz had a solid game at the back.
