Player ratings: Chelsea produce another disaster display at Brighton

Another abysmal display from Chelsea on the south coast. Two defeats in a week to a team we’ve handed over £200m and getting “ole’d” again.

Whatever next?

Filip Jorgensen – 2

Completely and utterly useless. Not a single piece of recent evidence to suggest he’s remotely better than Sanchez. Shocking for Brighton’s third goal and some awful, awful play on the ball.

Malo Gusto – 3

Pathetic. Awful defensively and just as bad going forward.

Trevoh Chalobah – 3

Arguably not tight enough to Mitoma for his goal, but hard to criticise too much considering how good it was. Still, poor.

Levi Colwill – 2

Embarrassing again. Left behind by Brighton attackers, weak, complaining to try and save face. Just totally, totally awful.

Marc Cucurella – 3

Much the same as the others. Never in the game, beaten far too easily for the third goal.

Moises Caicedo – 3

Poor. Never able to get hold of the midfield, again largely due to the rubbish around him. But tonight was his lowest point of the season.

Enzo Fernandez – 3

Just as poor. However, I personally felt his disallowed goal was harsh. That said, it changed nothing and doesn’t save his rating.

Noni Madueke – 2

Bottled a 50/50 early on which set the tone in my eyes. Never once looked threatening or like he wanted to be in the game. Frustrating that he’s injured though.

Cole Palmer – 2

Never in the game. Is that his fault? I don’t know? But he was never a threat for us whatsoever.

Pedro Neto – 2

Offered nothing going forward, poor overall. Hard to make a case for anything above a two.

Christopher Nkunku – 2

It felt like he barely touched the ball. Looked disinterested, poor and just as though he didn’t even want to be playing

Substitutes:

Reece James – N/A

Tyrique George – N/A

Didn’t warrant a real tangible rating but looked like he had an ounce of effort in him at least. Not bad.

Kiernan Dewsbury-Hall – N/A

Awful. Summed up by the abysmal dummy attempt within moments of being on.

Jadon Sancho – 2

Utterly abysmal. Not much more to say aside from the fact that he didn’t offer an ounce of threat.

Enzo Maresca – 2

Nothing changed. Another defeat. Pressure is mounting.
