Chelsea have pulled out of the Mike Maignan deal due to a difference in price valuation.
Chelsea were aiming to sign Mike Maignan for the start of the Club World Cup but did not want to pay more than £12m for a player with a year left on his contract.
AC Milan decided to stick at £20m so Chelsea have decided to walk away, even though the player wanted to join.
It is not expected Chelsea sign a goalkeeper this summer now.
According to Fabrizio Romano, Chelsea saw Maignan’s price quoted by Milan as a bit of a “Club World Cup tax” attached. Clubs have until today at 7pm to register players for the group stages.
