Chelsea Transfer Rumours Update – 8 July 2013

????????????????????
1) Chelsea prepare Benteke bid:
Chelsea are preparing a bid for Aston Villa star Christian Benteke as Jose Mourinho seeks a solution to the club’s pursuit of a new striker, Goal understands.
The returning manager has been thwarted in his attempt to sign Edinson Cavani and has thus far been unable to convince Robert Lewandowski to choose English football over a future move to Bayern Munich.
Benteke fits the coach’s preferred profile of a physically powerful striker capable of leading the attack alone, and is more readily attainable as a result of Villa’s fragile financial state.
2) Chelsea could snatch Sporting defender Tiago Ilori from Liverpool’s grasp
Jose Mourinho is weighing up a move for Liverpool target Tiago Ilori.
The Reds have been negotiating with the the central defender’s club, Sporting Lisbon, for several weeks.
Liverpool have had two bids rejected for Ilori who is valued by Sporting at around £8.5million.
However, they could now see their efforts hijacked by Chelsea.
3) Klopp confirms that long-standing Chelsea and United target Lewandowski will move to Bayern
Dortmund manager Jurgen Klopp has confirmed that long-standing Manchester United target Robert Lewandowski will join Bayern Munich next year.
Earlier this summer the Polish striker expressed his wish to join Bayern this transfer window, though Dortmund were adamant he would not leave before the start of the season, especially not to their Bundesliga rivals.
Manchester United and Chelsea were interested in taking advantage of this and luring him to the Premier League, but Klopp has he will stay this season before moving to the Allianz Arena next year.

  1. personally i think lukaku is better than benteke..even when both were playing for the belgium league lukaku showed that he was better than benteke while he was still very young..i think if we are going to spend money on a striker he has to be better than the strikers that we already have!

  2. Is this how Chelsea will be pursuing a player and @last couldn’t get it? Chelsea shouldn’t turns to be like Arsenal that scout players for other clubs. Better still, let make use of the players we have and put a little creativity to attain d best. Ba, Lukaku, Torres, possibly Shurrle in d attack, are as good as getting jst a striker.

  3. i think zlatan will be a wiser choice..mourinho already knows about him since they worked together before and most importantly,he will be available with the arrival of cavani to psg

  4. nelson ubong

We are losing our grip on top strikers. What is GOING ON????

  5. Loveday Tamrich

Chelsea need a powerful striker that will play along side Torres

  6. AKAN GREG

is dis hw my own chelsea going 2 end na wa oooooooo

Lukaku can learn from IBRAHIMOVIC please(YES) or do you want him to learn from Benteke(never)

  8. I’d take Benteke anyday. This boy and Lukaku are promising youngsters in world football today and there’s no reason why Chelsea cannot boast having some of the future stars on their books. Forget big names, these young boys can be winners.
Look at Dortmund as an example.

  9. Benteke is not as good as we think. Lukaku is younger and can be rated same with benteke which makes him better than benteke. At this point ibrahimovic will be a good choice for chelsea. Cavani or lewandoski coming to chelsea is a dying dream. Mourinho has to use torrres, lukaku and ba. Schurlle can also do a good job. I aslo harzad as a potential goal banger under mourinho. Oscar and mata should be able to provide this goal opportunities with their skillful play.

  10. Benteke is good but Lukaku is better! Lets not waste money on him! We should try our strikers since the world class ones aren’t forthcoming!
Lets just get a second keeper

Buying benteke(since we have lukaku who is much younger than him)is taking a step back instead we can go for soldado, however zlatan should be our top priority now and we should not think of money in his case, since we already missed falcao and cavani who are linked very strongly to sign.Anyway it is not easy to anyone in world to replace our legendary striker drogba!

  12. I don’t see it as being better than the other. Benteke adds goals to the roster. He is a player who wants to prove himself as a top performer and at his age, players want to improve.
Benteke performed for Villa when it mattered and it says alot about his mentality. Forget about his physical side. He can definitedly finish and we all know it. Chelsea have goals from almost everywhere in attack. Time and time again I brag about our ability not to rely on one player like United on Van Persie (or whoever the striker might be) for example. Let’s say Benteke join. He will possibly add 10-15 goals a season and that helps alot.
Maybe a month ago,Hazard talked about his willingness to be more direct and score alot more. Realistically,I cannot see a Premier League player scoring 40-60 goals a season like Ronaldo and Messi in La Liga (poor league in my opinion). But the fact of the matter is,Hazard wants to contribute more and maybe 10 extra more from him will also help. Don’t even forget Mata’s ability to score 15-20 goals too. Oscar? He can obviously still improve on his 12 goal tally. Schurrle can contribute too.

  13. Zlatan? Too old. Think long term. Why not try for Yilmaz instead?

    • Hey mate, been a while. I only comment here most times when I see your comments, because, besides Ervin and Shirley, you’re the only one who’s opinion matters to me. I’d go for Benteke anyday, and possibly partner with Lukaku.

    Please take cavani
