Chelsea have completed the signing of Derby County fullback Dylan Williams.
Williams has announced the deal on his Instagram account.
The Blues have solved the left-back issue in their academy squad, whilst the same conundrum remains in the first team roster with Emerson Palmieri still no closer to being recalled from his Lyon loan, reports football.london.
Williams, 18, has made eight appearances so far for the Rams this season and was missing from their matchday squad for the Nottingham Forest loss in the Saturday lunch-time kick-off.
Derby boss Wayne Rooney admitted on Friday: “We have agreed a fee with a Premier League club, still getting finalised as we speak, for Dylan Williams.
“It is one where I felt I couldn’t deny him the opportunity, so that is my decision, not an administrator’s decision.
“It was my decision after speaking to the player, I felt I couldn’t deny a young lad an opportunity of going to play in the Premier League.”
Williams posted this morning: “Wow.
“I am absolutely delighted to have signed for one of the biggest clubs in the world.
“Thank you so much for everything the staff and players have done @dcfcofficial.
“I cannot wait to get started @chelseafc.”
