Jose Mourinho reflected on the comfortable victory over Newcastle United at Stamford Bridge and also praised Eden Hazard for his hat trick that helped the Blues go top of the league for the first time this season since August. The Special one was delighted by the whole team’s performance than his individual stand out players. Chelsea have not conceded a goal since the consolation goal of Javier Hernandez when we beat Man Utd 3-1 at Stamford bridge in the whole 2014 calender year so far.
Reflecting on the performance Jose Mourinho said, “I think we are playing well, the first half was not the best example of that because we has some problems but generally we have been playing well for a long time. Individually we are in a good moment, the team are getting results and we are top of the league, that’s something you cannot hide”
Next thing to discuss was the performance of Eden Hazard who claimed two man of the match awards in the last two premier league wins for Chelsea against Manchester City and against Newcastle on Saturday. He said after the Manchester City game that the Belgian is the best young player in the world but, after his first hat trick for the club this weekend, Jose was not fazed very much with his star’s performance.
He claimed it’s normal since Hazard is bringing an enormous amount of consistency to his game this season specially since the turn of the year in 2014.
‘His performance today was no different to the way he’s performed in other games, the only difference was that he scored a hat-trick for the first time. It was a very similar performance to the ones he had at Hull, Man City, at home against United and Liverpool, at Southampton. He’s playing the same way. He’s playing really well, he’s had a big evolution, he has consistency, ambition and it’s fantastic.’
And last but, not list, Jose Mourinho threw in one of the best metaphorical phrases he has given in his whole career considering there were too many to count. He was asked about how his ‘little horses’ in the title race are improving and maturing since they beat Newcastle 3-0 and went top of the league after Arsenal and Manchester City dropped points away from home.
Mourinho still didn’t put his team as the favorites to lift the trophy by the end of May and he said that Manchester city are like ‘jaguars’.
On Saturday he said: “It’s time to kill the horses, Manchester City is a Jaguar. You cannot put an ‘L’ plate on a Jaguar.”
That bit of magic has been in display through Jose Mourinho’s time at the bridge since his return last summer. This is why the premier league and all the world media adore him since he is so entertaining and he is the master of mind games to give his teams a huge psychological advantage when it comes to that.
