Chelsea face Stoke City after a win in midweek away to relegation threatened Sunderland. Chelsea will be looking to pick the 3 points to maintain pressure on Arsenal who are top of the league and have a 4 points advantage but will be facing a tough fixture against Everton who in midweek defeated Manchester United at Old Trafford.
Mourinho however is aware of the threat posed by Stoke and labelled them as a very ‘Physical team’. he said:
“They have very good players, a very physical team. They will be difficult to play against for sure.”
Jose is also aware of the fact that this has been a very tough week on the players with football in midweek as well and has said he will be giving his players a rest.
“This week is a hard week, especially playing on a Sunday, and then finishing playing again on a Saturday. The players will have Sunday off, as it’s important for them to rest.”
Talking about the win over Sunderland, Jose acknowledged that it was a close call and was very happy to come away with all three points:
“It’s a good feeling when you are in trouble and you survive.”
Meanwhile Jose has confirmed that David Luiz is out for the Stoke game and is yet to make a decision whether Oscar will feature or not. Samuel Eto’o has resumed training and will be available for selection.
Playing down the title talks yet again Jose is having the one game at a time approach. Jose said:
“We want to improve, we want to win the next match. Hopefully at the end of the season we will be there fighting.”
