Chelsea academy talent Josh acheampong has signed a new five year contract, reports David Ornstein.

Josh was vital to the clubs long term planning and despite some negotiation issues, the club have now convinced the player.

Acheampong is a natural right back but has played right centre back on the ball in Maresca’s system.

He is expected to start on Thursday against Shamrock Rovers and casts more doubt over the long term future of Reece James.
