So without further rambling from me, here is the stories making the rounds today BEFORE our game against West Ham
Jose Mourinho says Eden Hazard can rival Ronaldo and Messi as best in the world
Hazard has been in great form this year and Jose thinks he can go on to challenge Messi and Ronaldo and the duopoly they have on the Ballon d’Or
“Yes, he can reach that level,” said Mourinho. “Because his evolution is great. I think, because of the positions Cristiano and Messi played, they are also top goalscorers.
“It’s not just the quality of the players, but the number of goals they score that makes them even more special. Eden is a winger, a pure winger. Okay, we are giving him freedom to go to other areas, but he’s an attacking winger.
“I don’t think it’s possible for Eden to be top scorer in the league. That normally affects people’s judgement. But if he can be a match-winner, a player with high performances during a season… without injuries, Messi and Ronaldo start and finish strong, players with big stability in their performances.
“But if he wants the Ballon d’Or, he must build the entourage politically for that. Without the entourage and the politics, he doesn’t get the Ballon d’Or. It’s a different story.
“If he wants to be a great, great player and arrive where Cristiano and Messi arrives, he has the space to go – he’s 23, and Cristiano is 28 or 29, Messi 26 or 27… still young players, but four or five years older than Eden.”
THIBAUT COURTOIS has told Chelsea he will happily return to the club at the end of the season, provided he’s guaranteed game time.
This week Jose mourinho shut the door on any thoughts Courtois and Athletico had of a 4th loan season in Spain and said the young keeper would return to Chelsea and fight it out with Petr Cech for No.1 status
But Courtois is reluctant to return and sit on the bench after becoming an integral part of a title chasing team in La Liga
He states
“I am only 21, but I have been starting for four years, playing over 40 games per season.
“I can’t imagine not playing.
“I hope that if I will move back to Chelsea, it will be to play, otherwise another solution will have to be found.”
Lets hope this can be sorted out as we can’t afford to let this one get away in my opinion
Romelu Lukaku’s Chelsea future at stake after injury??
Reports on the extent of Lukaku’s ankle injury, suffered in Tuesday’s Merseyside derby, are yet to be released; but if the reaction of manager Roberto Martinez are anything to go by, it’s not looking exceedingly positive for the young Chelsea striker
With Chelsea looking very thin up front and being linked ( again ) with Cavani and now Costa a long term injury which forces him to miss much of the season or worse case the World Cup could cost the big man any chance he had of impressing Jose Mourinho and forcing his way into the Chelsea team for next year
Here is hoping its not serious and The Beast is back at The Bridge next year
