Let’s Forget Schurrle and Cavani; Chase Higuain and Jovetic Instead

It’s been a long, long time since we’re linked to Andre Schurrle. There’s nothing concrete at the moment and to be honest, I’m quite bored with this saga. I can’t see this transfer as being a good one as Bayer Leverkusen’s board seems asking for more money, which means, Chelsea will pay expensive to acquire his service that I don’t wish this to happen. Don’t get me wrong, I rate Schurrle as very good youngster but to pay him more than £20m pounds to me is a joke.
As for Edinson Cavani, I really want him as much as I want to see official statement from the club regarding Mourinho’s arrival. However, his €60m buyout clause is too pricey even if it really reflects his quality. I know Roman used to spend big money especially for a striker but that doesn’t mean that we have to spend big every time. In fact, there’s another viable options out there that Abramovich should take a look.
Gonzalo Higuain
Higuain, as we all know, is a very good striker who can play anywhere up front. He’s still 25, score lots of goals, assists, and the most important thing is he wants to leave:

“I feel that my time here has come to an end and I want a change of scenery. I have experienced seven intense, tough and happy years here,” – espnfc.com

For a no.9 role, Higuain probably isn’t as complete as Cavani or Falcao. That means, he’s potentially available for cheaper price than those two. I expect him to be available on the range between £25m – £30m. That’s half of Cavani price and interestingly, his wage at Real Madrid is on £50k – £60k a week. Which is cheap for a striker of his calibre – and that’s why he wants to leave: money.
If it’s not about money, it’s important to know why he’s unhappy at Real Madrid though. Since Jose Mourinho arrived, Higuain was 2nd option to Benzema despite he could be the 1st choice in any other big clubs. If that’s the case, then I doubt that he’s willing to work again with The Only One at Stamford Bridge. However, if he’s angry or unhappy under Mourinho’s reign, then he shouldn’t leave Real Madrid since Jose Mourinho is already leaving.
Chelsea also need to be hurry in finalising the deal since there are plenty of clubs out there that continually linked with Higuain since last year. Juventus, despite  they already have Fernando Llorente for next season, are the most potential buyer and the only likely destination so far. Arsenal are also linked but that’s not really bugging me since Arsenal are Arsenal as we all know.  Nevertheless, we have to consider potential bidding war from newly-rich clubs like PSG, Monaco, et. al. Remember Robinho, Javier Pastore, and Hulk transfers?
Stevan Jovetic
If Higuain is to replace potential-signing Cavani, then to replace the possibly-fail Schurrle we should looking to Jovetic. He’s one of the brightest talents in Serie A and Fiorentina isn’t qualified for CL which Chelsea could use this reason to lure him away. Jovetic is my type of forward. He can dribble and cuts inside the box, drops deep to open space, and he can play wide and deliver good cross as well. He’s not Cavani nor Falcao who can score up to 30 goals in a single season at the moment, but his all round play will suit Chelsea current style.
Since last season he’s continually linked to Juventus, Arsenal, and Manchester City. Luckily, Fiorentina are reluctant to sell him to Serie A, which makes Juventus having difficult time to purchase him especially consider Juventus and Fiorentina are arch rivals. Same case with Higuain situation as I aforementioned above, we have to finalise the deal as soon as possible to avoid any bidding war against clubs who would pay more money for him. He’s rated £25m by Fiorentina which Arsenal (typically) reluctant to pay.
I’d be more than happy if we can sign these two quality players. Higuain would easily be the 1st choice ahead Torres and Ba here, while Jovetic could provide different options upfront. As Higuain and Jovetic are both Arsenal targets, signing them will be much more amusing for Chelsea fans as it will also hurting Arsenal fans (again) . It’s fun to piss them off especially the last time we “stole” their transfer target (Juan Manuel Mata), it went very successful, right? Also worth to remember that if we’re going to spend £50m or above for Cavani, the last time we spent that much, it was terrible.

you are always on point fahrura, but I think we should give lukaku and piazon time to develop their game at the bridge. We can go for schurlle and make use of our young strikers like lukak. I really believe the best is yet to come from all our youth, let’s give them time and stop looking for ready made players.
Cavani is good no doubt but putting such a huge amount of money on him will make no sense to me, buy schurllre for 20m and make use of Lukaku and piazon. I believe those lad will perform more better since they smell the blue and breathe the blue colour in them. KTBFFH!!

    • Lukaku – yes. himself isn’t enough to face long season ahead. In fact, clubs like MU have Rooney-RVP-Chicharito and City had Dzeko-Balotelli-Aguero-Tevez and both won the title

    • yeah, I agree that Lukaku should be given chance but Torres and Ba aren’t good enough if we’re looking to win Premier League..

wat nonsese are u saying from ur mouth that we shud forget cavani an schurell, and buy poor striker like higuia and jovetic. pls roman buy cavani and andre schurell.

  3. Blue blood

Listen, this is chelsea. And only the best get a chance to play here. I’m disappointed @ this write up
Infact we should have gone for kagawa rather than eden harzard, because he was half his price. Talk is cheap.

    • Eden Hazard is not 60m pounds mate. i’m talking about smart buy. what would you say if we sign 60m pounds Cavani but ended up like Torres? every transfer has its risk.

    Chase how,Hugain????
Sorry 2 say admin but u are out of ur mind.

    • Hugain stats in La Liga THIS season
      games played: 28
      goals scored: 16
Hugain stats in La Liga PREVIOUS season
      games played: 35
      goals scored: 22
      not enough?
      in 2010/2011:
      games played: 32
      goals scored: 27
      cheers 😉

  5. lets go for jovetic and Lukaku from loan Torres n Ba should stay so that they can compete for no or we can formation of 2 strikers i.e 4-4-2 or 4-1-3-2.

  6. Im agreed wit u mate. I wont buy Cavani. I will rather spend that money on Higuain. He is a real top notch striker. If front of the goal, he is better than Cavani but as all rounder player, Cavani is better. But I wont waste money on Cavani.
I will consider Rooney to partner with Higuain.

  7. Considering your stats, higuain would make a lot of sense. Even the Lukaku everybody is talking about scored only 17 after playing almost 38 games. If higuain could score 16 in just 28 games, imagine what he could do when he plays the entire 38 (and don’t forget his very cheap pay of abt 60k/wk). Torres played almost 69 and could only manage 22 yet he takes 175k a week, what a shame! I know Abramovich is d boss who likes to spend big, but then he is no fool. Trust me, even a fool must have learnt from torres’ funk.

    • Most of lukaku’s appearances were from the bench. only played 13 full games
