Lukaku: I could stay at Everton

Romelu Lukaku has stated that he might as well stay at Everton if the club manages to qualify for next season’s Champions League. The striker on loan to Everton has had a great start to life at Goodison Park scoring seven goals already and has now told BBC that the stay might well be an extended one.

When asked about staying at Everton, Lukaku said: “It’s not a bad idea. If we play Champions League, yeah, why not?”

Earlier in the press conference Jose had a rebuke for Lukaku who said that he hadn’t spoken to the Chelsea manager for over two months.

“Romelu likes to speak. He’s a young boy who likes to speak. But the only thing he didn’t say is why he went to Everton on loan. That’s the only thing he never says. And my last contact with him was to tell him exactly that. Why do you never say why you are not here? So it’s something he should [talk about] because he likes to speak. It’s something he should say, the reason why he’s not with Chelsea and is in Everton.”

Lukaku however insists that the move to Everton was purely down to playing first team football which he believed he wasn’t going to get enough at Chelsea.

“It was not the fact that I was not wanted, I was wanted but I had to make a decision for myself,” Lukaku added.

“I had to analyse what the best was for me. Imagine if I was playing Chelsea now, I would play maybe five games, maybe score one or two goals.

“Look now I’m playing for Everton, I’ve played eight games and scored seven goals. Everybody in England is talking about me about my performances and as a player I’m improving, I’m having that certain consistency in my game.”

Everton defender Phil Jagielka believes that the decision to loan Lukaku might turn out to be a great one by Chelsea afterall. he said:

“It’s not a bad idea and a way at looking at things from Chelsea’s perspective,”

“Potentially it can work for Chelsea. He can’t play against Chelsea, but can against everyone else.”

Whether the move will turn out to be great we’ll have to wait and see, largely depends on the performance of our strikers. If our strikers score then we might not miss him but the lack of goals will mean a bad decision on Chelsea’s part.

As far as this ‘mini feud’ between Jose and Romelu is concerned, i think Lukaku is doing enough on the pitch. There is absolutely no need to answer everything the manager throws at you. He is a young lad and getting into such a feud will only damage his chances to play for Chelsea. Messing with Jose is not a great idea afterall.

Do the talking on the pitch Romelu, Do what you are good at.

  1. Lukaku asked for a move the day after he missed the penalty in the Super Cup and said he couldn’t compete with CFC strikers.

Mourinho turned down his request at first wanting player to stay and fight for a place in the side, but eventually agreed.

At the time Chelsea had been preparing to send Ba on loan. When Lukaku said he wanted out, CFC had to change its plans and invited loan offers. Plus he was dismayed at the signing of Samuel Eto’o.

And this is another story I’ve heard:

Prior to the Chelsea United game, Mourinho told players their strategy of playing without a striker. Idea was that United wouldn’t be expecting it and they would hopefully score before they were able to realise problem and restructure.

Story goes that Lukaku, presumably annoyed at not getting to play, leaked information to a friend and it found its way to the United backroom. Mourinho then arrives in Manchester to discover that United were set-up and prepared to deal with his striker-less game plan.

Up to that point the plan had been to loan out Ba but upon discovering it was Lukaku who had leaked, he was sent off instead.

    • If it’s true then if I was Mou I would have did the same. This Lukaku talk to much. ***it was me who asked for the loan****i want to prove Mou wrong! Wtf?****i want Everton to beat Chelsea***then he want to stay there? Damn let him leave. He think he is Messi or what? Anyway I don’t like the way he plays tho

  2. Lukaku the loquacious striker! lmao
” Drogba wanna be” should realize his so mentor didn’t have a big mouth and never played on loan.

  3. Lukaku talks like a mad man. With his lunatic nature, he may end up like Senegalees Diouf. Each time he scores, he gather press and talk rubbish. Is he bigger than Drogba and Anelka. The fool should go on and sign for Everton, we don’t rely on any player.

  4. Mourinho is confuse

    • Adeniyi WTF is wrong with you man? What Mou did wrong to call him a confused man? U better go back to school otherwise life is going to be tough with you. Lukaku think is a Messi, hunting for attention. Missing up with Mou isn’t a smart move
