Match Preview: Chelsea FC vs Stoke City FC

rsz_1z

Chelsea have suffered back to back away defeats in Premier League and Champions League. The shock loss at Crystal Palace last Saturday dealt a major blow to Chelsea’s title chances and as Jose Mourinho has said, the title look real distant now in spite of mathematical probabilities.

Chelsea now face Stoke City at the Bridge, a team to whom the Blues lost 3-2 back in December in the reverse fixture last year. The Blues must improve their performance in order to create some sort of momentum before welcoming Paris Saint-Germain in the all important Champions League return leg next week.

FUN TRIVIA:

  • Chelsea are undefeated in their last 25 home matches in Premier League.
  • Chelsea have won their last 7 home matches against Stoke in all competitions.
  • Chelsea have kept a clean sheet in their last 6 home matches against Stoke City.

The Potters won’t be an easy proposition, but Chelsea have the resources to beat them comfortably. Anything other than three points will ensure the Premier League title will no longer be coming to London.

  1. terry need a rest, the same with ivanovic….
am not criticising yur squad coz that a mere prediction buh we need new faces, would also like to see hazard rested too…..

  2. Jt really needs a rest,torres should not be on d matchday program..tank u

  3. Good line up!! I don’t know why z team not learn from uncoviencing lost this yr. Starting from Everton lost, z defeat is due to missing z unmissed chance & lack of Killing z game timely. All z subsequent defeats r z same as our first lost. Why not players learn from mistake? Z sum of mistakes cost us without a single trophy. Why Torres not learns within 3 yrs? Why Ramairas not learn from not doing bad tackle? His red card cost Super Cup trophy and his fault continue in z same fashion. Individual fault cost ….

why not play Mikel in 4 so that Luiz will pair with Cahill to give JT a rest to void what happened last time? by Hungwa Emmanuel

  5. Martin, Norway.

good line up but for obvious reasons some of the players needs rest if not all. Mourinho always has his own line up.
