An amazing performance from the blues sees us proceed into the semi-final of the FA cup. A stunning strike from Demba turned our frowns from Saturday into pure delight. Shortly after the goal we witnessed one of the greatest saves of the season when Cech heroicly managed to deny Hernandez’s amazing header.
It was an opening half of few chances with either side struggling to really open up the game. It was a bland 30 minutes which desplayed poor passing and it lacked any conviction. The first real chance fell to Demba Ba just following the half. Hazard slipped a lovely ball into the path of Ba who hit a fierce first time shot towards the near post. De Gea cleverly managed to save with his feet. Slowly but gradually Chelsea were starting to dominate. The brilliant understanding between Mazacar was present again today. Hazard and Oscar exchanged a clever 1-2 just inside the box and Hazard whipped a beautiful shot which curled agonisingly wide. Half time came with both teams level.
There was no changes at half time and Im sure both sets of fans were hoping for a better second half. Only four minutes into the second half and every blue on the planet was jumping up with jubilation.Mata played a perfectly weighted ball into the path of the stretching Ba. I’m sure Demba stretched every muscle in his body in order to get a touch on the ball. By golly he did a fantastic job.He patiently waited and watched the ball drop over his shoulder before expertly guiding the ball into the top corner. It really was a stunning volley and it ignited a brief period of dominance for the blues.
10 minutes after the goal we witnessed an outstanding stop which proved why Cech is the best goalkeeper in the premier league. Welbeck drilled a cross across the box and Hernandez wa on hand to steer the ball goal words. I’m sure many United fans thought they had scored but they were brilliantly denied from the trust worthy palm of the heroic Petr Cech. We had an exquisite chance to potentially seal the game just before the 70th minute. Hazard was away from the defence and 1 on 1 with de gea. The Belgian dragged the shot a little and the ball flew agonisingly close to the post.
The last ten minutes came and United still diddnt manage to create a genuine chance to equalise. I’m sure every CFC fan suffered a mini heart attack when evra flung a ball forwards the sc yard box. RVP prepared himself to smash the ball into back of the net but fortunately he smashed it over the bar.
I’m sure Rafa was filled with jubilation when the full time whistle came. He really made up for Saturdays dreadful performance. I’m sure it was a proud moment for him as well as every other Chelsea fan. Hope you all had a wonderful time!
