Match Report: Chelsea 3-0 Stoke City

After a disappointing week for Chelsea fans, the players certainly did deliver today as the blues comfortably beat Stoke. Goals from Salah, Lampard and Willian ensured that Mourinho’s men eased to victory.

Chelsea started with a fast tempo and crafted a good opportunity on the 9th minute. Andre Schurrle’s trickery created space and the German played the ball to Lampard. Super Frank threaded a nice pass through to the rushing Salah, who’s shot was saved.

Fernando Torres almost handed the blues a deserved lead. Cesar Azpilicueta won the ball and crossed it in the box. Eric Pieters shouldered the ball, Torres reacted sharply and tried to squeeze the ball past Begovic. However the Potters’ keeper did well to deny the Spaniard.

Moments after the thirty minute mark Chelse were ahead. The consistent Dave threw the ball to Nemanja Matic who played a slick ball to Salah who expertly fired the ball into the back of the net. Fantastic technique from the Egyptian to give Chelsea the lead.

The second half saw the arrival of two new faces. Charlie Adam and Andy Wilkinson were introduced to the game, replacing Palacios and Cameron.

Unfortunately the second half started with both teams struggling to make an impact. Eden Hazard replaced Andre Schurrle and moments later the lead doubled. Chelsea’s ‘Egyptian Messi’was taken out by Wilikinson. Super Frnakie Lampard stepped up, his penalty was initially save but he scored from the rebound.

Jose Mourinho decided to replace Frank Lampard who managed to score 250 club career goals, with the Curley haired David Luiz.

Soon following the introduction of Luiz fellow Brazilian Willian wrapped up the points with a splendid strike. He received the ball at the edge of the D, dropped his shoulder and sensationally curled the ball into the corner. An exquisite effort 3-0!

A moment that every Chelsea fan applauded was the return of Ashley Cole. The England International was absent since February due to a knee injury but replaced the man of the match Willian.

With moments until Chelsea returned to the top of the table, the blue faithful united and sung the name of ‘Jose Mourinho’ loud and proud.

FT 3-0! I hope you all enjoyed the match! KTBFFH, UTC, CAREFREE!
