First half

Chelsea started the first half slowly which is quite the tradition under Rafa. Newcastle dominated and started the game with a few powerless shots which hardly disturbed Cech. After about 20 minutes into the game Newcastle’s shots became more powerful and more common as Chelsea were still sleeping. Shots by Cisse and Cabaye were saved by Cech, who was back from a calf injury and was ready to show he’s Godlike. Then came the 34th minute, when Howard Webb proved to be a disgusting Fergie’s-Ass-licking twat. Demba Ba got away after a fantastic pass by Lampard, took a good shot, which Krul saved, then went for the header but was brutally kicked in the face by Coloccini, causing a bad bleeding & a broken nose. Apparently, in Howard Webb’s book that’s hardly a penalty, even though Ba was given medical attention for about 5 minutes & then came off, struggling to breathe or to see. A shocking decision. Of course, we’re used to them. Image

This is what followed after this accident…

And then, suddenly, in the 41st minute Newcastle took the lead. Out of nowhere Santon crossed the ball into our box and Jonas scored his first goal of the season with a header. From the replays it kinda looked like he didn’t mean it though…

Second half

The second half started a lot better for us. We were all over Newcastle and it looked like the half time talk (whoever did it…) soon had its effect on our players. We had a few good attacks, we kept possession a lot more and suddenly in the 55th minute Frank Lampard scored an absolute classic – a goal from outside the box. It’s been a while since I’ve seen such a spectacular goal by Lampsy, to be honest. Cole gave him the ball, a NUFC defender didn’t clear it and Lampard just pulled the trigger which resulted in a fantastic goal, which Krul couldn’t have possibly saved. 1-1.

A few minutes and good attacks later the ball reached Mata inside their box and with a fantastic curling effort, our little magician scored a goal to put us in front. 1-2!

Unfortunately though, as usual (we’ve lost 14 points from winning positions…), we fucked up and soon afterwards, in the 68 after a good counter-attack (and very bad defending by us) Newcastle equalized. Gouffran took a good shot which Cech saved but unfortunately the ball went right on Sissoko’s foot and it was 2-2. And as if that wasn’t bad enough, we couldn’t even hold on to that result and take a point from a difficult ground. 89th minute – boom. Bad defending by Chelsea combined with a great shot by Sissoko resulted in a goal which gave the home side a 3-2 win. An embarrassing ending to a game we could’ve even won with our performance in the second half…well, at least in the first 1/2 of the second half…

A small personal conclusion (hopefully not a problem)

I think we’re letting ourselves go pretty easily when we take ANY kind of lead. Once, a 2-0 lead in the 60th minute meant we were winning the game for sure, no doubt. Nowadays, a 2-0 lead means we’ll probably get a point! And look at what we did today – it was a 1-2 lead and we stopped playing against a strong side. That quickly slapped us in the face with 2 goals by Sissoko and farewell to any points. Sort it out, Chelsea.
