Chelsea is looking for reinforcements in the pivot role and according to The People, former Manchester United midfielder Paul Pogba is on Jose’s wish list. The 20 year old valued at 25 million Pounds is a top prospect and Jose has sets his sights on him as a solution for his pivot problems and might be willing to bid for him in the January window.
Pogba has got 2 years left on the current deal but Juventus are trying their best to tie him down to a long term contract with a pay rise. However player’s refusal to commit long term has fuelled speculation that Pogba might soon be off.
Even Juventus President conceded that Pogba may leave if the ‘massive’ offer comes in. Speaking at the Leaders in Football Conference at Stamford Bridge, Andre Agnelli said:
“In two or three years’ time, we get a massive offer for Pogba, would we be able to retain him? I don’t know. The Italian league used to be a final destination for international top players.
“What I sense now is that we are a transit destination. Even for Italian players, they can graduate in Italy but then find their ultimate success elsewhere.”
Arsene Wenger too has been a long term admirer of Pogba and compared him to Patrick Vieira. Arsenal however, after the signing of Flamini from Milan look loaded in midfield department and a move from Arsenal for the Frenchman looks unlikely.
Juventus veteran and Italian defender – veteran of 8 years with the Old Lady – revealed that even the team mates are resigned to the fact that Pogba will move once the continent’s big boys come calling. Chiellini told Gazetta dello Sport.
“If someone wants to believe in fairytales and Father Christmas that’s his prerogative. At the moment, Pogba is the biggest talent in international football in his position. If Juve do receive an obscenely high offer for him… just look at the price Bale went for.”
Pogba left Manchester United in 2012 joining Juventus on a free transfer, winning the Serie A title in his first season and has established himself as one of the hottest properties in Europe.
