Player ratings: Chelsea batter Club America in Atlanta

Chelsea beat Club America 3-0 in Atlanta in a dominant performance which will give lots of optimism towards the season ahead.

Maresca is clearly working very hard tactically as the defensive shape improved from the battering to Celtic last game and going forward there is lots of positives.

Here are my player ratings:

Robert Sanchez – 6

One save as far as I can remember and gradually got more confident on the ball. No complaints.

Reece James – 6

Decent. Looked quite settled on the right of the back three, probably more so than he has done in the pivot alongside Lavia. Interesting to see Maresca use him in another role.

Tosin Adarabioyo –

Benoit Badiashile – 6

An improvement on Saturday which was much needed. Looked quite settled this evening so hopefully a sign of things to come.

Malo Gusto – 7

Inverted alongside Lavia in a pivot tonight and he looked so comfortable I felt.

He’s such a useful, intelligent player that is going to be big for us this season. Hopefully nothing serious injury-wise and just some cramp. We’ll see.

Romeo Lavia – 8

Absolutely fantastic. Confident, classy, just all round great.

Some lovely passes and turns in the first half and certainly his best performance of pre-season so far.

Christopher Nkunku – 8

Another goal to make it 3 in 3 this pre-season as well as a stunning run to win the penalty for our third goal of the night.

Looking superb so far and is going to make such a difference to us next season.

Kiernan Dewsbury-Hall – 7

A promising start. It was clear that he wasn’t quite fit yet, still looked 2 or 3 seconds off the pace of the game, however, made a nice run to get an assist for Guiu and got on the end of a few cutbacks. Think he will be useful for us.

Noni Madueke – 7

Bright overall tonight, nice and direct at points but still finds himself lacking with end product at times. He’ll get there I feel, he just needs time.

Marc Guiu – 7

A goal, and a well deserved one at that for his efforts in pre-season so far. Constantly chasing loose balls and making himself a nuisance for defenders. A useful looking player.

Raheem Sterling – 6

Bright spells here and there, some nice runs down the left and unlucky not to have an assist for Dewsbury-Hall in the first half.

A few N/As below as felt the second half was harder to judge than the first 45/60 minutes.

Filip Jorgensen – 6

Nothing to do overall so hard to truly judge but will give a 6. Keen to see him maybe start against Manchester City on Saturday.

Enzo Fernandez – 6

Getting into the groove of things, again, hard to judge yet.

Wesley Fofana – 6

Mykhailo Mudryk – N/A

Lesley Ugochukwu – 6

Armando Broja – 5

Renato Veiga – 6

Ben Chilwell – N/A

Angelo – N/A

Tyrique George – N/A
