TOTTENHAM GET BATTERED EVERYWHERE THEY GO!
Granted, we made it hard work, somewhat embarrassing at times in the second half. But let’s have it right, a 4-1 win at Three Point Lane, is a 4-1 win at Three Point Lane.
In what was hands down, the craziest, most unpredictable, chaotic game of the season, Chelsea finally got a second, and a third. Oh, and a fourth. Here’s the ratings…
Robert Sanchez – 7
A rating given for a massive save late on with the score at 2-1. Had the Son chance gone in, I could’ve been writing a very different piece right now – but we’ll take it.
Reece James – 6
Starting for the second time in a few days, I was a little worried at how Reece James would deal with tonight. He wasn’t vintage, but he wasn’t poor either, so an average 6 is where I have him at. At the end of the day, the positive is that he got minutes in his legs.
Axel Disasi – 6
After a torrid first 15 minutes, Disasi had a quiet evening alongside Thiago Silva. Not much else to report, so that’s good, I suppose?
Thiago Silva – 6
I could really just copy and paste the Disasi review here – again, not a standout and not much to really do beyond the equalizer.
Levi Colwill – 5
I might be being harsh, but I felt like Colwill struggled tonight. Isolated a few times against Kulusevski and lost his head at the end of the first half, which led to Marc Cucurella coming on. He will learn, we all know the potential he has.
Moises Caicedo – 6
A disallowed beauty of a goal, and a night of recycling possession – I have no complaints from Caicedo tonight. 5 from 7 long balls completed and 93% pass accuracy as per Sofascore. Tidy.
Enzo Fernandez – 7
A danger as ever with his phenomenal passing ability, and I think Enzo did well tonight, a few times seemingly unlocking the Spurs line, but for a few mistimed Sterling runs. Hopefully the injury he had wasn’t a serious one.
Conor Gallagher – 7
95% passing accuracy, 11 duels competed for and 6 won – and industrial as ever performance from Conor Gallagher tonight and I personally felt he did very well.
Cole Palmer – 9
Player of the match for me, no one came close, despite Jackson’s best efforts! A goal, shushing the Spurs fans, and a late assist for Jackson – Palmer just gets better each week.
Nicolas Jackson – 8
A hat-trick to save what initially was a really poor performance in front of goal – might this be what he needs for confidence? It feels hard to judge our attackers tonight, playing in an unusual gamestate against 9 players. It just doesn’t often happen.
Raheem Sterling – 5
Poor, I really have to say. On a night like tonight where he really could’ve taken the game on his own, he just didn’t do it for me. I’m happy to hear it out if I’m maybe being harsh though.
Mauricio Pochettino – 8
10 of the starting 11 were bang on, and he didn’t panic and throw on an excessive amount of attackers. No worries on Poch tonight – let’s use this result to get right behind him now.
Marc Cucurella – 7
Another really solid night for Cucurella, and did his job on the left side very well. 5 out of 7 duels won on the ground, and wasn’t really beaten by his marker, that I could remember.
Mykhailo Mudryk – 5
I was left a little disappointed tonight and djd hope for a little more from Mudryk against the Spurs high line. He’s young, we know how good he is, so I am not concerned.
Malo Gusto – N/A
Lesley Ugochukwu – N/A
Enjoy this win, blues!
