Chelsea get smashed 4-1 by Celtic in the USA raising early concerns over Enzo Maresca.
Robert Sanchez – 6
A six purely because he did make some huge saves but I’m not overly convinced at all that he’s good enough to go into the season with. Let’s see if Jorgensen gets a chance.
ReeceJames – 6
If there’s anything I can say I do like about this system at the moment it’s Reece in the inverted role. I really feel it suits him and thought he looked reasonably okay tonight.
Wes Fofana – 5
Part of a very leaky and worrying looking high line in the first half – lost his man a few times. Still isn’t quite sharp so feels harsh to say too much bit improvement needed for a few weeks time.
Benoit Badiashile – 4
Like Fofana, part of a really poor defensive showing and handed Celtic a goal.
Levi Colwill – 5
Average. A few nice passes here and there but nothing of any note defensively, like most.
Romeo Lavia – 5
Struggled to get to grips with the game overall – still getting sharp as is everyone.
Christopher Nkunku – 7
Got on the scoresheet in the end and got into some nice positions throughout the game. Positives to take with 2 goals in 2 games.
Carney Chukwuemeka – 7
One of our better performers I felt. Had some decent chances he could probably have done better with but helped make some positive things happen going forward.
Noni Madueke – 4
Ineffective and struggled. Not for the want of trying, but just couldn’t get into the game enough.
Marc Guiu – 6
Again another of few positives tonight. I really like what I see so far or Guiu and want to continue seeing involvement from him over the coming few weeks.
Mykhailo Mudryk – 4
Anyone could struggle to convince me that he even played.
Tosin Adarabioyo – 5
Poor, just like everyone in the backline.
Raheem Sterling – 6
Won a late penalty and was unlucky not to score early in the second half, hitting the post.
Lesley Ugochukwu – 5
Didn’t really offer much.
