Player ratings: Chelsea’s old Trafford curse continues with stale draw

Chelsea’s winless run at Old Trafford continues with a strangely lethargic performance that lacked any real intensity.

Despite going a goal down fairly late on, Moises Caicedo’s stunning volley secured us a point, at the very least.

Let’s take a look at some player ratings..

Robert Sanchez – 5

Would’ve given higher but a poor decision to dive in which led to United’s penalty. Distribution wasn’t as poor as it has been in recent games but still, hardly polished.

Malo Gusto – 4

Really poor and no surprise to see him taken off at half time. I’m not remotely a fan of him playing in the sort of, inside position when going forward. Offers very little there.

Wesley Fofana – 5

Poor for the penalty and misjudged the ball into the box, at times I find him a little rash off the ball. Just didn’t think today was his best effort.

Levi Colwill – 6

A decent afternoon overall but again, not his best or most convincing day. Not a great deal to really say.

Reece James – 7

Very good, and great to see him get another 90 minutes under his belt. Caught out a few times by Garnacho late on I did think, but overall he was very solid.

Moises Caicedo – 9

Nye on perfect for me today. Aside from his wonderfully taken goal, he had a fantastic game. Also made a crucial interception late on which stopped United nicking the game on the counter.

Romeo Lavia – 6

Nothing too much to write home about. Had a fairly okay day today but could’ve been better and a bit more incisive on the ball. Felt we lacked that from him, and others, today.

Noni Madueke – 5

Poor, again like last week got into good areas but lacked good decision making. It’s frustrating because he can do so much more.

Cole Palmer – 5

I was torn between a five or six but for the player he is and what’s expected of him, I thought today was a bitterly disappointing day. Just didn’t offer enough going forward, created very little. Annoying one. Need to be better next week.

Pedro Neto – 6

One of few who decided to take their marker on, try to make things happen. Tracked back well, nearly had a goal of his own in the second half but did himself no harm today.

Nicolas Jackson – 4

Not in the game whatsoever, which is unlike him. Just a really poor, disappointing afternoon much like Palmer today.

Substitutes:

Marc Cucurella – 6

Better than Gusto, though on a different side of course. Not bad throughout.

Enzo Fernandez – N/A

Didn’t do enough to warrant any real rating.

Mykhailo Mudryk – N/A

Same as Fernandez.

Enzo Maresca – 5

A performance lacking intensity and it never looked like changing throughout. Does that come from the manager? But sure, but think we could’ve been better today.
