Player ratings: Lack of cutting edge costs Chelsea chance at a trophy

Chelsea lose 1-0 to Manchester City after the Blues missed countless chances to take the victory.

Djordje Petrovic – 7

Made some really important saves, unlucky to be on the losing side today.

Malo Gusto – 7

Superb, defensively and creatively going forward. Much like Petrovic, unlucky to be on the losing side.

Trevoh Chalobah – 7

Decent, I felt him and Silva both did really well today and defended convincingly.

Thiago Silva – 7

On the eye, fantastic. Clearances, sold short with passes but made it work, just classy as ever and did not deserve to lose.

Marc Cucurella  – 7

Thought he was great today all in all, I have no real faults with how we defended to be honest.

Moises Caicedo – 6

Fairly standard afternoon, not outstanding but not poor.

Conor Gallagher – 5

Frustrating as anything – no idea why he was deployed out wide off the ball. Offered nothing on it either.

Enzo Fernandez – 6

Nothing to shout about today, a quite average performance all in all.

Cole Palmer – 6

I honestly don’t think we got him into the game anywhere near enough.

Noni Madueke – 6

Had a pretty good first half but wasn’t in the game in the second.

Nicolas Jackson – 6

Missed an awful lot of chances, should’ve had us a goal up at the very least but aside from those chances he was okay.

Mauricio Pochettino – 8

The game plan was absolutely bang on and the loss feels harsh on him today.

Ben Chilwell – 0

Utterly useless – am I after a scapegoat? Maybe. For the life of me I can’t believe how he didn’t see the pass to Sterling at the end of the game.

Mykhailo Mudryk – 0

No impact at all, utterly pathetic.

Axel Disasi – N/A

Raheem Sterling – N/A
