Player ratings: Nicolas Jackson brace shows what confidence can do to a player

Chelsea take a 4-1 lead back home from Sweden with a good first leg performance against Djurgardens.

Full focus can now be put onto Sunday with this tie all but won.

Filip Jorgensen – 7

I thought he had a reasonably good game all things considered. Distribution was pretty good and he made some good saves as well, especially one in the second half from a Djurgardens corner.

Josh Acheampong – 7

Tidy as always tonight, misplaced just two passes and generally was good during the game. Not a lot to say aside from that though.

Tosin Adarabioyo – 6

Pretty steady overall. Neat on the ball, not a lot of defensive actions required bar late on.

Benoit Badiashile – 7

Decent tonight – an impressive five clearances, tidy on the ball again too. A good step forward.

Marc Cucurella – 6

Pretty quiet overall which is fine. Not too involved on the ball during the game but again, he didn’t necessarily need to be.

Reece James – 6

A steady 45 minutes, some good defensive contributions especially late in the first half where he looked initially beaten for pace.

Kiernan Dewsbury-Hall – 6

Pretty standard, tonight given he has shown a couple of positive signs recently. One key pass during the game too, and overall steady.

Noni Madueke – 7

A goal for him tonight which I was really happy about. Didn’t need to play more than 45 minutes either so, got his goal and off he went.

Enzo Fernandez – 8

Another two assists tonight taking him to 26 for club and country this season. Good going. Had a good performance all in all though and glad he got a rest ahead of Sunday.

Jadon Sancho – 6

Forced a goal early on in the game but not much else to say about his performance.

Tyrique George – 6

Not bad tonight, a little quieter than maybe I’d have hoped but he certainly wasn’t poor.

Substitutes

Cole Palmer – 5

Not worth him coming on ultimately.

Nicolas Jackson – 8

Two goals tonight, one of which fantastic. It’s amazing what confidence can do to a player.

Moises Caicedo – 7

Good as always, did his job, tenacious defensively and good in possession as he always is.

Trevoh Chalobah – 6

Much the same as the other centre backs. Pretty standard all in all.

Reggie Walsh – N/A

Enzo Maresca – 7

Thought he got it right tonight in terms if minute management and the way we played. That’s the tie won barring a huge disaster so full focus on Sunday, especially with Forest losing tonight!
